Les chemins qu’on va considérer sont confinés dans l’intersection d’un certain nombre de demiplans rationnels, c’est-à-dire d’équation ai+ bj + c ≥ 0, pour a, b, c des rationnels non tous nuls. De telles contraintes apparaissent naturellement lorsque les chemins codent des familles d’objets combinatoires (arbres, cartes...), ou décrivent l’évolution de files d’attente [16, 13, 12, 34].
