چکیده

In this study, the use of the extended Bragg scattering model for fully polarimetric SAR data is proposed for describing sea surface scattering. Experiments are conducted on fully polarimetric Cand L-band SAR data. Analysis conducted so far, indicates that the proposed model is suitable for the description of the sea surface scattering and can be useful to assist oil spill observation.

SP-668 - 4th Int. Workshop on Science and Applications of SAR Polarimetry and Polarimetric Interferometry

Polarimetric calibration accuracy is a key factor in the quantitative use of polarimetric SAR data as well as the design of future SAR system. This paper presents an approach to determine the maximum acceptable distortion level remaining after polarimetric calibration in Polarimetric SAR Interferometry (Pol-InSAR). PolInSAR distortion model of calibration is reviewed and discussed firstly. Then...

SP-668 - 4th Int. Workshop on Science and Applications of SAR Polarimetry and Polarimetric Interferometry

The contribution of synthetic aperture radar polarimetry in target detection is described and found to add valuable information. A new target detection methodology is described that makes novel use of the polarisation (Huynen) fork of the target. The mathematical formulation is general and can be applied to any kind of single target, however in this paper the detection is optimised for the odd ...

Polarimetric Interferomtry

SAR polarimetry makes use of the polarization dependent scattering response of each pixel within the imaged area. The polarimetric response is highly sensitive to the scattering mechanism of a pixel. SAR interferometry is sensitive to the location of a pixel and its scattering geometry. The location of a pixel can be measured by the phase difference between two coherent SAR images using SAR int...

SAR imaging using multidimensional continuous wavelet transform and applications to polarimetry and interferometry

Usual SAR imaging process makes the assumption that the reflectors are isotropic and white (i.e., they behave in the same way regardless the angle from which they are viewed and the emitted frequency within the bandwidth). The multidimensional continuous wavelet transform (CWT) in radar imaging was initially developed to highlight the image degradations due to these assumptions. In this article...

The Feasibility of a Compact Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar for Polsar and Polinsar Applications

Nowadays it is widely recognized that SAR polarimetry (POLSAR) and polarimetric SAR interferometry (POLINSAR) add a valuable contribution to promising applications in many fields of remote sensing. SAR polarimetry uses the information embedded in the polarization state of electromagnetic waves scattered by the target; as an example, this technique has been used for vegetation mapping, classific...
