Histamine, Mast Cells, and Heart Failure

چکیده
e have known about histamine receptors in the heart for any years (1). The human H1and H2-histamine recepors were cloned and characterized in the early 1990s (2,3), ollowed closely by the human H3and H4-histamine eceptors several years later (4,5). Histamine is a natural ody constituent that is found throughout the body, espeially the central nervous system, mast cells, gastric mucosa arietal cells, and basophils. The H1-receptor is coupled to -q11 and activates a number of intracellular signals, ncluding cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) and yclic guanosine monophosphate. In the heart, histamine ecreases atrioventricular node conduction time via H1eceptors. The H2-histamine receptors are also found in the eart, and couple to G s proteins to signal through cAMP o produce chronotropic and inotropic activity. The H2istamine receptors also subserve hypotension, flushing, eadache, increased gastric acid production, and enhanced ascular permeability. Therefore, in essence, histamine is a rue neurohormone.

INFLUENCE OF NERVE TISSUE-DERIVED NEUROTRANSMITTERS ON MAST CELL MIGRATION
In vitro culture systems using bone marrow cells from BALB/C mice were set up in medium supplemented with spleen-derived medium. Bone marrow cells grown in spleen-derived medium gave rise to cultures containing >97% mast cells. The cells were used in polarisation chemotaxis assays with the intention of determining the effect of nerve tissue-derived neurotransmitters on mast cell migration. ...

It has long been established that histamine plays a role as a mediator of inflammation. From numerous studies, it has been well known that the amine has many pharmacological actions on a variety of organs. To evaluate the role of histamine in pain perception, we generated HDC knockout mice using a gene targeting method. Histamine is a hydrophilic autacoid, and in most tissues it is stored and s...

Background: Pruritus is one of the most common problems in patients suffering chronic renal failure. Twenty five - 35% of predialysis patients and 60-80% of patients during dialysis complain pruritus. The exact pathophysiology of pruritus is unknown however, some possible interactive factors include: histamine release from mast cells and basophiles, uremic skin, cutaneous mast cells proliferati...
متن کاملMast cells cause apoptosis of cardiomyocytes and proliferation of other intramyocardial cells in vitro.
BACKGROUND Mast cells are multifunctional cells containing various mediators such as cytokines, proteases, and histamine. They are found in the human heart and have been implicated in ventricular hypertrophy and heart failure. However, their roles in pathogenesis of these diseases are unknown. METHODS AND RESULTS Cultured cardiomyocytes from neonatal rats were incubated with mast cell granule...
