چکیده

Results |TheLTL (expressed in the telomere repeat copynumber to the single gene copy number ratio) remained unchanged during and after the OC intake. In contrast, the LTL doubled while taking PioFluMet and returned to baseline after thePioFluMet intakewasstopped(Figure).TheLTLchanges across treatment groupsduring 18months related inversely to fasting insulinemia, body fat fractionbydual energy x-ray absorptiometry, and visceral and hepatic adiposity bymagnetic resonance imaging (all rvalueswerebetween−0.53 and−0.57; all P values were between 0.002 and 0.007). The ratio of circulating neutrophils to lymphocyteswas first similar in treatment groups and remained similar in and between groups across 24 months. Noteworthy adverse effects were not encountered in either treatment group.4

Normal Saline vs. Hypertonic Saline Nebulization for Acute Bronchiolitis: A Randomized Clinical Trial

BackgroundWe aimed to compare the efficacy of nebulized hypertonic (3%, 5% and 7%) saline with normal saline in hospitalized infants with acute bronchiolitis.Materials and MethodsIn this triple-blinded randomized clinical trial, 120 children with moderate to severe bronchiolitis randomly assigned into four groups to receive nebulized normal saline (group A),  saline 3% (group B), saline 5% (gro...

Nebulized Hypertonic Saline for Acute Bronchiolitis: A Systematic Review.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE The mainstay of treatment for acute bronchiolitis remains supportive care. The objective of this study was to assess the efficacy and safety of nebulized hypertonic saline (HS) in infants with acute bronchiolitis. METHODS Data sources included PubMed and the Virtual Health Library of the Latin American and Caribbean Center on Health Sciences Information up to May 2015...

Epinephrine Improves the Efficacy of Nebulized Hypertonic Saline in Moderate Bronchiolitis: A Randomised Clinical Trial

BACKGROUND AND AIMS There is no evidence that the epinephrine-3% hypertonic saline combination is more effective than 3% hypertonic saline alone for treating infants hospitalized with acute bronchiolitis. We evaluated the efficacy of nebulized epinephrine in 3% hypertonic saline. PATIENTS AND METHODS We performed a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial in 208 infants hos...

Nebulized hypertonic saline treatment reduces both rate and duration of hospitalization for acute bronchiolitis in infants: an updated meta-analysis.

Nebulized hypertonic saline (HS) treatment reduced the length of hospitalization in infants with acute bronchiolitis in a previous meta-analysis. However, there was no reduction in the admission rate. We hypothesized that nebulized HS treatment might significantly decrease both the duration and the rate of hospitalization if more randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were included. We searched ME...

COMPARISION OF THE EFFICACY OF NEBULIZED L-EPINEPHRINE, SALBUTAMOLAND NORMAL SALINE IN ACUTE BRONCHIOLITIS: A RANDOMIZED CLINICAL TRIAL

ABSTRACT Background: Acute bronchiolitis is the most common form of lower respiratory tract infection in infancy. There are numerous contradictory reports regarding the efficacy of nebulized bronchodilators in the management of infants with acute bronchiolitis. This study was designed to compare the efficacy of nebulized epinephrine with salbutamol for treatment of the disease. Methods: In a r...
