Integrated Ndt Models in Civa

Since the beginning of the nineties, the CEA (the French Atomic Energy Commisssion), with developing the CIVA NDT expertise platform is greatly involved in the development of simulation tools. Over the years, and with successive versions of CIVA, the results of modeling research work have been being integrated into the software both for ultrasonics and Eddy current techniques. In order to fullfill requirements of an intensive use of the programs for industrial applications, a twofold strategy has been put forward: i) the choice of semianalytical methods, and ii) the development of models integrated into modules usable by operators who are not simulation specialists. In this communication, the ultrasonic and electromagnetic models are presented and discussed.
