Non-centralized Predictive Control for Drinking Water Supply Systems

چکیده
This chapter discusses the application of non-centralized MPC (NCMPC) approaches to DWTNs. The aim of DMPC is to reduce the computational burden and to increase scalability and modularity with respect to the centralised counterpart, but still maintaining a convenient level of suboptimality with respect to the desired control objectives. Moreover, the advantage of NCMPC approach is the simplicity of its implementation given the absence of negotiations among controllers, which allows for a simple implementation.

Food and water security issues in Russia II: Water security in general population of Russian Arctic, Siberia and Far East, 2000–2011
BACKGROUND Poor state of water supply systems, shortage of water purification facilities and disinfection systems, low quality of drinking water generally in Russia and particularly in the regions of the Russian Arctic, Siberia and Far East have been defined in the literature. However, no standard protocol of water security assessment has been used in the majority of studies. STUDY DESIGN AND...
متن کاملStochastic Model Predictive Control Approaches applied to Drinking Water Networks
Control of drinking water networks is an arduous task given their size and the presence of uncertainty in water demand. It is necessary to impose different constraints for ensuring a reliable water supply in the most economic and safe ways. To cope with uncertainty in system disturbances due to the stochastic water demand/consumption, and optimize operational costs, this paper proposes three st...
متن کاملModels for predicting disinfection byproduct (DBP) formation in drinking waters: a chronological review.
Disinfection for the supply of safe drinking water forms a variety of known and unknown byproducts through reactions between the disinfectants and natural organic matter. Chronic exposure to disinfection byproducts through the ingestion of drinking water, inhalation and dermal contact during regular indoor activities (e.g., showering, bathing, cooking) may pose cancer and non-cancer risks to hu...
متن کاملWater demand forecasting for the optimal operation of large - scale drinking water networks : The Barcelona Case Study . ?
Drinking Water Networks (DWN) are large-scale multiple-input multiple-output systems with uncertain disturbances (such as the water demand from the consumers) and involve components of linear, non-linear and switching nature. Operating, safety and quality constraints deem it important for the state and the input of such systems to be constrained into a given domain. Moreover, DWNs’ operation is...
