Index-based object recognition in pictorial data management

چکیده
Modern database management systems are designed to promote the controlled sharing of information. Each individual user has his own view of the data and acts as if he were the only user of the system. While database technology has emphasized the management of textural data, in the past few years there has been much interest in the ability to manage non-textual data. This interest from the database community has manifested itself in proposals for various types of multimedia databases, while from the computer vision community it has manifested itself in the design of image databases [Gro84, Na85, TaY841. Our philosophy behind the design of such databases has differed from those of other researchers in this area. The computer vision community has designed image database management systems either as testbeds for their algorithm development or for geographical applications, whereas the database community has, by and large, treated images as just another field of a record. We believe on the other hand, that images and text should be treated equally. The backbone of our approach is image interpretation. If images should be able to be components of queries, it seems clear to us that image interpretation should be a component of a viable query processing strategy. Both research communities have something to offer to this field. The database community is undergoing a conceptual revolution which has lately been overtaking the relational paradigm. This new paradigm concerns itself with managing objects [BanSS, BCG86, CDF86, Dit86, Row87]. An object is an instantiation of an abstract data type which is embedded in a multiple inheritance network. As such, an object is packaged with some predetermined operations. Instead of managing

Urban Vegetation Recognition Based on the Decision Level Fusion of Hyperspectral and Lidar Data
Introduction: Information about vegetation cover and their health has always been interesting to ecologists due to its importance in terms of habitat, energy production and other important characteristics of plants on the earth planet. Nowadays, developments in remote sensing technologies caused more remotely sensed data accessible to researchers. The combination of these data improves the obje...
متن کاملThe Effect of Pictorial Flashcards on the Sight Word Recognition in Kindergartens
It was a quasi-experimental study because the study involved in training participants in twoclasses each containing about 5 to 6 years old pre-primary students. To this end, fifty studentsparticipated in the study who were studying at Misagh School in Tabriz. In order to makesure of their homogeneity, the researcher administered a pre-test. Based on the results, 40students were selected as the ...
متن کاملApplication of Combined Local Object Based Features and Cluster Fusion for the Behaviors Recognition and Detection of Abnormal Behaviors
In this paper, we propose a novel framework for behaviors recognition and detection of certain types of abnormal behaviors, capable of achieving high detection rates on a variety of real-life scenes. The new proposed approach here is a combination of the location based methods and the object based ones. First, a novel approach is formulated to use optical flow and binary motion video as the loc...
متن کاملObject Recognition based on Local Steering Kernel and SVM
The proposed method is to recognize objects based on application of Local Steering Kernels (LSK) as Descriptors to the image patches. In order to represent the local properties of the images, patch is to be extracted where the variations occur in an image. To find the interest point, Wavelet based Salient Point detector is used. Local Steering Kernel is then applied to the resultant pixels, in ...
متن کاملToward parts-based scene understanding with pixel-support parts-sparse pictorial structures
Scene understanding remains a significant challenge in the computer vision community. The visual psychophysics literature has demonstrated the importance of interdependence among parts of the scene. Yet, the majority of methods in computer vision remain local. Pictorial structures have arisen as a fundamental parts-based model for some vision problems, such as articulated object detection. Howe...
متن کاملPictorial Recognition of Objects
This paper describes an eecient approach to pose invariant pictorial object recognition employing spectral signatures of image patches that correspond to object surfaces which are roughly planar. Based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD), the aane transform is decomposed into slant, tilt, swing, scale and 2D translation. Unlike previous log-polar representations which were not invariant to sl...
