Angiogenesis at Different Stage of Pregnancy in Goat Placenta

چکیده
The increase intransplacental exchange depends primarily on the great development of the placental vascular bed. The aim of this study was to evaluate the pattern of placental vascular development at day 50 and 100 of pregnancy in goats and the relationship with the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) immunolocalization. The placental morphometric variables: capillary area density, capillary perimeter density, capillary number density and average capillary perimeter of the caruncular (CAR) and cotyledonary (COT) tissues were measured at day 50 (n = 5) and 100 (n = 5) of gestation. Also, the immunolocalization of VEGF was performed. In the CAR and COT tissues a significant increase of capillary area density and capillary perimeter density at day 100 of the gestation was observed. In the COT tissue, this was due to the increase in the capillary number density; however in the CAR tissue this was due to the increase in the capillary size. We can conclude that in both tissues there were different strategies to increase the capillary area and, thereby, the nutrients exchange. The immunolocalization of VEGF in the COT tissue showed the endothelial cells of blood vessels and trophoblastcells surrounding the villi intensely inmunostained, which would indicate the involvement of VEGF in the placental vascular development.

Biochemical evaluation of amniotic fluid during different stages of gestation in the goat
To study changes in concentrations of some biochemical factors of amniotic fluid, 115 normal goat uteri at different stages of pregnancy were collected from slaughterhouse. After expelling of each fetus accompanied by fetal membranes, 10 ml amniotic fluid was taken from amniotic sac for biochemical analysis. Then approximate ages of fetuses were calculated by using age estimation formula. At fi...

In this study, we performed immunohistochemistry of cholesterol side-chain cleavage cytochrome P450 (P450scc), 3beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3betaHSD), cytochrome 17alpha-hydroxylase P450 (P450c17), and cytochrome P450 aromatase (P450arom) in the corpus luteum and placenta of Shiba goats. The aim was to clarify the steroidogenic capability of the corpus luteum and placenta of Shiba goats....

Background: Induction of medical abortion during the second trimester of pregnancy is considered under certain medical conditions. Abortion in the second trimester of pregnancy could be accompanied by several side effects including hemorrhage and placenta retention. Several types of medications including oxytocin, ergots, and prostaglandins are used to control and optimize the third stage of la...
متن کاملHemoperitoneum Caused by Placenta Percreta in the Third Trimester of Pregnancy
The placental adhesive disorders such as placenta accreta and placenta percreta are the rare causes of serious obstetric hemorrhages. They are associated with high maternal morbidity and mortality. Placenta percreta is usually diagnosed in the third trimester of pregnancy as a massive postpartum hemorrhage when an attempt to remove the placenta reveals lack of a cleavage plane. Here we report a...
متن کاملEffects of dexamethasone on progesterone and estrogen profiles and uterine progesterone receptor localization during pregnancy in Sahel goat in Semi-Arid region
BACKGROUND Despite the widespread use of dexamethasone in veterinary and human medicine, it is reported to cause some severe pregnancy related side effects like abortion in some animals. The mechanism of the response is not clear but seems to be related to interspecies and/or breed difference in response which may involve alterations in the concentrations of some reproductive hormones. METHOD...
