ISAR Image Improvement Using STFT Kernel Width Optimization Based On Minimum Entropy Criterion

Nowadays, Radar systems have many applications and radar imaging is one of the most important of these applications. Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar (ISAR) is used to form an image from moving targets. Conventional methods use Fourier transform to retrieve Doppler information. However, because of maneuvering of the target, the Doppler spectrum becomes time-varying and the image is blurred. Joi...

A New Method of Aircraft Motion Error Extraction From Radar Raw Data For Real Time Motion Compensation

Presented is a new solution for real-time motion compensation. The main idea is to extract all the necessary motions of the aircraft from the radar backscatter signal using a new radar configuration and new methods for evaluating the azimuth spectra of the radar signal. Hence an inertial navigation system becomes unnecessary for many applications. The motion compensation parameters for realtime...

Research on micro-feature extraction algorithm of target based on terahertz radar

Micro-Doppler motion of a target is an important characteristic in high-resolution radar observation. The target feature extraction of micro motion has already been applied to many aspects of radar research. In this article, general model is established for the echo signal of a target with micro-motion. Combination of time-frequency analysis method, a method using Radon transformation to detect...

Translational Motion Compensation Techniques in ISAR Imaging for Target with Micro-Motion Parts

In inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) imaging, micro-motion structures on the target will induce additional time-varying frequency modulations to the radar echoes. Due to the disturbance of these mechanical vibration or rotation parts, it will be difficult to obtain a well-focused ISAR image of the target using conventional translational motion compensation methods. To solve this problem, ...
