چکیده

SUMMARY In a reflection of new developments in science and society, Gibbons et al. (1994) proposed to make a distinction between " Mode 2 " and " Mode 1 " types of knowledge production. Whereas " Mode 1 " refers to the traditional shape of science, largely confined within institutional settings, " Mode 2 " is communication driven. Organized knowledge production can then be considered as the codification of communication. Communications leave traces that can be studied as indicators. Institutions can be considered as retention mechanisms functional for the reproduction of ever more complex, that is, scientific and knowledge-based, communications.

Universty Intellectual Capitals, A base for organizing academic planning

Today, the creation and management of knowledge assets play a decisive role in maintaining the viability and value creation of universities. However, it seems still no agreement has been formed on the most fundamental knowledge assets that generally are intangible. The existing understandings of knowledge assets of universities which are generally partial, personal and not tested, have failed t...

Measuring the blame of each formula for inconsistent prioritized knowledge bases

It is increasingly recognized that identifying the degree of blame or responsibility of each formula for inconsistency of a knowledge base (i.e., a set of formulas) is useful for making rational decisions to resolve inconsistency in that knowledge base. Most current techniques for measuring the blame of each formula with regard to an inconsistent knowledge base focus on classical knowledge base...

Measuring, Formalising and Modelling Tacit Knowledge

This paper provides a methodology aimed at better measuring tacit knowledge in an organisational context. Although codified knowledge and its capture is commonplace, tacit knowledge has up until recent years proved elusive in its inclusion within the organisation's knowledge base. It is hoped that by means of a triangulated methodology utilising psychological, sociological and computational met...

Measuring and repairing inconsistency in probabilistic knowledge bases

In this paper we present a family of measures aimed at determining the amount of inconsistency in probabilistic knowledge bases. Our approach to measuring inconsistency is graded in the sense that we consider minimal adjustments in the degrees of uncertainty (i.e., probabilities in this paper) of the statements necessary to make the knowledge base consistent. The computation of the family of me...

Measuring Inconsistency for Description Logics Based on Paraconsistent Semantics

In this paper, we present an approach for measuring inconsistency in a knowledge base. We first define the degree of inconsistency using a four-valued semantics for the description logicALC. Then an ordering over knowledge bases is given by considering their inconsistency degrees. Our measure of inconsistency can provide important information for inconsistency handling.
