Supramolecular H-bonded porous networks at surfaces: exploiting primary and secondary interactions in a bi-component melamine-xanthine system.

چکیده
The control over the formation of a bi-component porous network was attained by the self-assembly at a solid-liquid interface by exploiting both primary and secondary non-covalent interactions between melamine and N(3)-alkylated xanthine modules.

Formation mechanism for a hybrid supramolecular network involving cooperative interactions.
A novel mechanism of hybrid assembly of molecules on surfaces is proposed stemming from interactions between molecules and on-surface metal atoms which eventually got trapped inside the network pores. Based on state-of-the-art theoretical calculations, we find that the new mechanism relies on formation of molecule-metal atom pairs which, together with molecules themselves, participate in the as...
متن کاملBimolecular porous supramolecular networks deposited from solution on layered materials: graphite, boron nitride and molybdenum disulphide.
A two-dimensional porous network formed from perylene tetracarboxylic diimide (PTCDI) and melamine may be deposited from solution on the surfaces of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite (HOPG), hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) and molybdenum disulphide (MoS2). Images acquired using high resolution atomic force microscopy (AFM) operating under ambient conditions have revealed that the network forms e...
متن کاملTwo-dimensional crystal engineering using halogen and hydrogen bonds: towards structural landscapes.
Two-dimensional (2D) crystallization on solid surfaces is governed by a subtle balance of supramolecular and interfacial interactions. However, these subtle interactions often make the prediction of supramolecular structure from the molecular structure impossible. As a consequence, surface-based 2D crystallization has often been studied on a case-by-case basis, which hinders the identification ...

Due to the differences in the composite and morphology of dentin in primary and permanent teeth, it is necessary to make improvements in bonding techniques to promote the strength of composite resins bonded to the dentinal surface, in primary teeth. The use of lower radiation, to make structural and chemical changes in dentinal surfaces has been investigated. This research was conducted to eval...
متن کاملHierarchical self-organization of perylene bisimide--melamine assemblies to fluorescent mesoscopic superstructures.
A series of three perylene tetracarboxylic acid bisimide dyes 3a-c bearing phenoxy substituents at the four bay positions of the perylene core were synthesized and their complexation behavior to complementary ditopic dialkyl melamines 8a-c was investigated. Binding constants and Gibbs binding energies for the hydrogen bonds between the imide and the complementary melamine moiety have been deter...
