An Application of Artificial Neural Network to Exhaust Emission Modelling from Diesel Engine

چکیده

The paper presents an application of artificial neural network to modelling emission from Diesel engine. In our study six independent engine control variables have been identified and used. In order to found the relations between engine control parameters and emission the radial artificial neural network (ANN) has been applied. The ANN has been trained on the base of measurement results whose cover a wide range of steady state engine operating conditions. The accuracy of ANN output has been compared with calculation based on power function proposed in earlier works. In the paper has been shown that ANN gives better emission approximation than power function. A good correspondence of ANN prediction values has been achieved also in comparison to results of additional experiment data. Przyj to sze parametrów charakteryzuj cych warunki pracy silnika, w zale no ci od których przy u yciu zaimplementowanych sztucznych sieci neuronowych okre lano emisj zwi zków szkodliwych i zadymienie spalin. Zaproponowane sieci wytrenowano na zbiorze ponad 200 dyskretnych danych pomiarowych rejestrowanych w ca ym polu pracy silnika. Dok adno odpowiedzi sieci porównano z obliczeniami w oparciu o funkcje pot gowe zaproponowane we wcze niejszych pracach. W pracy pokazano, e post powanie z wykorzystaniem sztucznych sieci neuronowych lepiej nadaje si do aproksymacji emisji i zadymienia ni funkcje pot gowe. Wykorzystuj c sieci neuronowe uzyskano dobr dok adno odpowiedzi sieci w porównaniu z rezultatami dodatkowych bada . 1. Wst p W zakresie prac rozwojowych dotycz cych silników spalinowych wykorzystuje si modele matematyczne o ró nej strukturze. Oprócz modeli klasy CFD stosuje si tak e modele teoretyczno-empiryczne, wymagaj ce okre lenia szeregu parametrów empirycznych. Modele takie s szczególnie przydatne w zagadnieniach, w których czas oblicze odgrywa istotn rol , st d kluczow spraw bywa zapewnienie efektywno ci numerycznej modelu. Problem domykania równa takiego modelu ze wzgl du na parametry empiryczne mo e by rozwi zany w sposób opisany w pracy [2] gdzie skalowania modelu dokonano poprzez odpowiednio sformu owane zadaniem optymalizacji. Modele teoretyczno-empiryczne, formu owane s w oparciu o posiadan informacj badawcz , dotycz c jednak e pewnych dyskretnych stanów pracy silnika. Pojawia si zatem problem aproksymacji danych
