Adaptive UPPC System for High Frequency Satellite Communications
نویسندگان
چکیده
The use of more and more high frequency bands is presently one of the major trends in the satellite communications field. Several important advantages can be achieved by increasing frequency against a sensible impact with atmospheric effects, in particular with the heavy fading induced by rain precipitations. In the last few years, several methods based on adaptive techniques to counteract the rain attenuation have been proposed. This paper presents a new UPPC system concept based on the idea of estimating the actual up-link to down-link attenuation ratio (the so-called frequency scaling factor), by using the received satellite beacon and the earth station transmitted signal, as relayed by satellite. To this purpose, an estimation procedure based on a Parameter-Updating Prediction Algorithm (PUPA) is proposed. Simulation results for the case of 20/30 GHz frequency bands are provided.

Power Amplifier Linearization Using Six-port Receiver for DVB-S2 Satellite Communications
A digital look-up table adaptive predistortion technique using a six-port receiver for power amplifier linearization is presented. The system is designed in Ka-band for a DVB-S2 satellite link. We use a six-port receiver at the linearizationloop in place of classic heterodyne receivers. The six-port receiver is implemented by the use of passive microwavecircuits and detector diodes. This approa...

A modified method for satellite attitude control system in presence of novel actuators is proposed in this paper. The attitude control system is composed of three fluidic momentum controller (FMC) actuators that are used to control Euler angles and their dynamics is considered in satellite attitude equations as well. L1 adaptive control is utilized for satellite three-axial ...
متن کاملAn Adaptive Noisy Chaotic Neural Network Approach for Frequency Assignment in Satellite Communications Systems
We propose an adaptive noisy chaotic neural network (A-NCNN) to solve the frequency assignment problem (FAP) in the satellite communications systems. The objective of this NP-complete problem is to minimize the cochannel interference between two satellite systems by rearranging the frequency assignments. In the A-NCNN, the noisy chaotic neurondynamics manages the constraint satisfaction while t...
متن کاملJointly power and bandwidth allocation for a heterogeneous satellite network
Due to lack of resources such as transmission power and bandwidth in satellite systems, resource allocation problem is a very important challenge. Nowadays, new heterogeneous network includes one or more satellites besides terrestrial infrastructure, so that it is considered that each satellite has multi-beam to increase capacity. This type of structure is suitable for a new generation of commu...
متن کاملA Prototype Adaptive Fade Countermeasure System for TDMA Operation at Ka Band
Ka band, the 20/30 GHz frequency band for satellite communications, has gained much interest in recent times. It is well suited for applications with small sized earth stations. The major disadvantage of Ka band, however, is its sensitivity to rain fading. Several satellite experiments are being carried out at the moment studying so called adaptive fade countermeasures, the purpose of which is ...
