Hpan Textile Fiber Wastes for Removal of Dyes from Industrial Textile Effluents

چکیده
The paper presents our new results about efficiency of wastes based on hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile textile fibers (HPAN) as sorbents in removal of some dyes from textile effluents. The effect of some experimental variables such as initial dye concentration, sorbent mass, pH, temperature, and contact time were investigated. The sorbent dye sorption systems are described using Freundlich, Langmuir and Dubinin-Radushkevich isotherm models. The laboratory experimental results performed using the textile fibres wastes indicate the good removal of dyes from aqueous medium, suggesting that these textile solid wastes correspond to the actual tendency of using non-conventional sorbtive materials to reduce the overall cost of sorbent preparation.

Industrial development worldwide has led to an increase in the amount of wastewater production leading to a considerable decrease in levels and quality of the natural water in the ecosystem. Textile dyes are an important class of pollutants in natural water ecosystem. Textile dyes are molecules designed to impart a permanent colour to textile fabrics. Effluent from textile dyeing units contain ...
متن کاملUtilization of Fly Ash as Low Cost Adsorbent for Treatment of Textile Dying Industry Effluents: Kinetics and Isotherms
Abstract--Textile dying industry effluents are highly toxic in nature and it contains a large number of complex metal dyes. Many dyes used in textile industries are stable to light and resistant to aerobic digestion. Thus removal of coloured waste from industrial dye effluent is a most perplexing problem to such industries and the environment. On the other hand fly ash is a major pollutant gene...

Water resources are increasingly getting contaminated day by day due to the ignorance lent to the wastewater management. Most of the textile dyes or effluents are a major reason for the pollution of water resources.Although many methods are adopted to treat these textile effluents, but there is a dire need to come up with an eco-friendly,cost effective method for the removal of contaminants from ...
متن کاملColor Removal from Simulated Textile Effluents Using Clean Electrocoagulation Technique
The present work was directed toward the successful ability of electerocoagulation to remove color from synthetic and simulated textile effluent by aluminum/iron electrodes. Two representative reactive dyes were selected for the synthetic dye system, a black dye alone and mixed dye (black, blue, red, 1:1:1 vol/vol). Several important operating parameters such as electrode material, initial pH(3...
