Modelling facial colour and identity with Gaussian mixtures
نویسندگان
چکیده
An integrated system for the acquisition, normalisation and recognition of moving faces in dynamic scenes is introduced. Four face recognition tasks are deened and it is argued that modelling person-speciic probability densities in a generic face space using mixture models provides a technique applicable to all four tasks. The use of Gaussian colour mixtures for face detection and tracking is also described. Results are presented using data from the integrated system.

متن کاملSkin Segmentation of Facial Images in the Compressed Domain with Applications in Cosmetics
In this paper we present a fast and accurate solution for skin segmentation of facial images in the JPEG compressed domain, in order to classify faces for further cosmetics applications. Within the increasing of image resolution in the past few years, the requirements for large storage space and fast processing (as developments directly in the compressed domain) became essential. The segmentati...
متن کاملA Discrete Mixtures Colour Texture Model
A novel method of texture modelling based on discrete distribution mixtures is discussed. The statistical properties of textures are modelled by a discrete distribution mixture of product components. A natural colour texture is spectrally factorized and discrete mixtures models are learned and used to synthesize single orthogonal monospectral components. Texture synthesis is based on easy compu...
متن کاملProbabilistic mixture-based image modelling
During the last decade we have introduced probabilistic mixture models into image modelling area, which present highly atypical and extremely demanding applications for these models. This difficulty arises from the necessity to model tens thousands correlated data simultaneously and to reliably learn such unusually complex mixture models. Presented paper surveys these novel generative colour im...
متن کاملPlain faces are more expressive: comparative study of facial colour, mobility and musculature in primates.
Facial colour patterns and facial expressions are among the most important phenotypic traits that primates use during social interactions. While colour patterns provide information about the sender's identity, expressions can communicate its behavioural intentions. Extrinsic factors, including social group size, have shaped the evolution of facial coloration and mobility, but intrinsic relation...
