Effect of Concurrent Strength and Endurance Training on Selected Endurance Parameters
نویسنده
چکیده
The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of concurrent strength and endurance training on selected endurance parameters namely Cardio-respiratory endurance and Resting pulse rate. To achieve this purpose, thirty students from the Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Annamalai University, Annamalai Nagar, TamilNadu and India were selected as subjects at random. Their age ranged between eighteen to twenty two years. The selected subjects were divided into two equal groups of fifteen each namely concurrent strength and endurance training group and control group. The experimental group has undergone twelve weeks of concurrent strength and endurance training, whereas the control group maintained their daily routine activities and no special training was given. The subjects of the two groups were tested on selected variables namely Cardio-respiratory endurance and Resting pulse rate standardized tests, namely Cooper’s 12 minute walk/run test and counting on radial artery/minute at prior and immediately after the training period. The collected data were statistically analyzed through analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) to find out the significant difference, if any between the groups. The.05 level of confidence was fixed to test the level of significance which was considered as an appropriate. The results of the study showed that there was significant differences exist between concurrent strength and endurance training group and control group. Also, concurrent strength and endurance training group showed significant improvement on Cardio-respiratory endurance and Resting pulse rate compared to the control group.

Effect of Endurance, Resistance and Concurrent training on the Function of the cardiac of healthy middle-aged women
Background & Aim: Cardiac functional adaptations are affected by gender, age, intensity and type of exercise. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of endurance, resistance, concurrent training on the cardiac function. Methods: Forty healthy middle-aged women (mean age 44/62±3/45 years, height 157/75±4/87 cm and weight 73/27±10/64 kg) were randomly divided into four groups (10 person...

ABSTRACT Background and Objectives: Previous studies have shown that morphine dependence leads to myocardial dysfunction. In addition, apelin plays a protective role in cardiac function. The purpose of this study was to evaluate effects of morphine dependence and three models of exercise training on serum apelin level of dependent and healthy ...
متن کاملConcurrent training: a meta-analysis examining interference of aerobic and resistance exercises.
The primary objective of this investigation was to identify which components of endurance training (e.g., modality, duration, frequency) are detrimental to resistance training outcomes. A meta-analysis of 21 studies was performed with a total of 422 effect sizes (ESs). Criteria for the study included were (a) compare strength training alone to strength plus endurance training (concurrent) or to...
