چکیده

This publication consists of a series of reports written mostly by Air Vice-Marshal Sir C. S. Symonds and Wing-Commander D. J. Williams, separately or together, with a few by Squadron-Leader D. D. Reid, together with critical evaluations by Professor A. Bradford Hill and Wing-Commander Williams on the reliability of psychiatric opinion. Observations on the incidence of upper respiratory infections in a Royal Air Force formation in Southern Rhodesia.

The upper respiratory infections are among the commonest causes of morbidity in general. Apart from this, they have their own particular importance in the Royal Air Force, because of their influence on the efficiency of those who fly. Pilots and their fellow aircrew members are repeatedly subjected to sudden changes in atmospheric pressure during rapid ascent and descent in flight. Congestion o...

Sex Differences on U . S . Air Force Pilot Selection Tests

The study of sex and ethnic group differences is an important issue in the evaluation of personnel measurement instruments. Several principles must be considered when addressing the measurement of group differences including whether the selection instruments measure the same factors for all groups (i.e., factorial invariance), group mean score differences, and differential validity. Federal gui...

On the dynamic stability of a flying vehicle under the follower and transversal forces

This paper deals with the problem of the instability regions of a free-free uniform Bernoulli beam consisting of two concentrated masses at the two free ends under the follower and transversal forces as a model for a space structure. The follower force is the model for the propulsion force and the transversal force is the controller force. The main aim of this study is to analyze the effects of...
