High resolution time-frequency analysis by fractional domain warping

چکیده
A new algorithm is proposed to obtain very high resolution time–frequency analysis of signal components with curved time– frequency supports. The proposed algorithm is based on fractional Fourier domain warping concept introduced in this work. By integrating this warping concept to the recently developed directionally smoothed Wigner distribution algorithm [1], the high performance of that algorithm on linear, chirp–like components is extended to signal components with curved time–frequency supports. The main advantage of the algorithm is its ability to suppress not only the cross–cross terms, but also the auto–cross terms in the Wigner distribution. For a signal with N samples duration, the computational complexity of the algorithm is O(N logN) flops for each computed slice of the new time–frequency distribution.

Application of Single-Frequency Time-Space Filtering Technique for Seismic Ground Roll and Random Noise Attenuation
Time-frequency filtering is an acceptable technique for attenuating noise in 2-D (time-space) and 3-D (time-space-space) reflection seismic data. The common approach for this purpose is transforming each seismic signal from 1-D time domain to a 2-D time-frequency domain and then denoising the signal by a designed filter and finally transforming back the filtered signal to original time domain. ...

This paper aims to develop a writing robot by recognizing the speech signal from the user. The robot arm constructed mainly for the disabled people who can’t perform writing on their own. Here, dynamic time warping (DTW) algorithm is used to recognize the speech signal from the user. The action performed by the robot arm in the environment is done by reducing the redundancy which frequently fac...

This paper presents new tools to improve a geoacoustic inversion scheme relying on the inversion of marine mammals vocalizations recorded on a single hydrophone. This method makes best use of the multipath propagation and time-frequency signature of vocal calls. The classical signal processing tools based on spectrogram limit both the range of the scheme and the signals panel that can be proces...
متن کاملProposing New Methods to Enhance the Low-Resolution Simulated GPR Responses in the Frequency and Wavelet Domains
To date, a number of numerical methods, including the popular Finite-Difference Time Domain (FDTD) technique, have been proposed to simulate Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) responses. Despite having a number of advantages, the finite-difference method also has pitfalls such as being very time consuming in simulating the most common case of media with high dielectric permittivity, causing the for...
متن کاملFiltering in Time-Frequency Domain using STFrFT
The Fractional Fourier Transform is a generalized form of Fourier Transform, which can be interpreted as a rotation by angle ? in time-frequency plane or decomposition of signals in terms of chirps. However it fails in locating Fractional Fourier Domain Frequency contents. Short-time FRFT variants are suitable for analysis of multicomponent and non-linear chirp signals with improved time-freque...
