چکیده

Getting military aircraft airborne is a symphony of planning. From the aircrew to the fuel truck driver, the coordination of effort is a complex logistical problem. In the operations world, we tend to use magnetic boards with pucks and markers to evaluate our daily resources and develop solutions to meet requirements. While there are electronic systems available, there are none that have sufficiently agile interfaces that allow complete visualization of the problem and ease of manipulation. By exploring the use of optical recognition to determine the position of scheduling board components, I seek to step closer to the ideal combination of a tactile interface to an error-checking electronic system. AN EFFECTIVE METHOD FOR SIMULTANEOUSLY CONSIDERING TIME-COST TRADE-OFF AND CONSTRAINT RESOURCE SCHEDULING USING NONLINEAR INTEGER FRAMEWORK

Critical Path Method (CPM) is one of the most popular techniques used by construction practitioners for construction project scheduling since the 1950s. Despite its popularity, CPM has a major shortcoming, as it is schedule based on two impractical acceptance that the project deadline is not bounded and that resources are unlimited. The analytical competency and computing capability of CPM thus...

Public transport fleet scheduling for minimizing total transfer waiting time

Public transportation has been one of the most important research fields in the two last decades. The purpose of this paper is to create a schedule for public transport fleets such as buses and metro trains with the goal of minimizing the total transfer waiting time. We extend previous research works in the field of transit schedule with considering headways of each route as decision variables....

Understanding Performance Tradeoffs in Algorithms for Solving Oversubscribed Scheduling

In recent years, planning and scheduling research has paid increasing attention to problems that involve resource oversubscription, where cumulative demand for resources outstrips their availability and some subset of goals or tasks must be excluded. Two basic classes of techniques to solve oversubscribed scheduling problems have emerged: searching directly in the space of possible schedules an...

On-Board Task Scheduling Algorithm for Spacecraft

An on-board scheduling algorithm is developed for scheduling tasks on a spacecrap. For ofline scheduling, a heuristic routine generates a feasible schedule and orderbased genetic algorithms improve the schedule. For online scheduling, two heuristic routines generate a good schedule in near real-time. The on-board scheduling algorithm is applied to a large problem of IO00 tasks, IO0 resources an...

Implementation of Resource Constraints in ILOG SCHEDULE: A Library for the Development of Constraint-Based Scheduling Systems1

It has been argued that the use of constraint-based techniques and tools enables the implementation of precise, flexible, efficient and extensible scheduling systems: precise and flexible as the system can take into account any constraint expressible in the constraint language; efficient inasmuch as highly optimized constraint propagation procedures are now available; extensible as the consider...
