Egypt has the highest hepatitis C virus (HCV) prevalence in the world, it has been reported that 14.7% of Egyptian population is chronically infected with HCV and 90% of them are genotype-4 (El-Zanaty et al, 2011) and (Guerra et al, 2012). Up to now, the standard of care (SOC) treatment of chronic HCV infection consists of (pegylated) interferon-Alpha and oral ribavirin. (Hendy et al, 2011).
