On packet marking at priority queues
نویسندگان
چکیده
This note concerns charging, rate control and routing for a communication network using priority mechanisms at queues. It is argued that by appropriately marking packets at overloaded resources, end-systems can be provided with the information necessary to balance load across different routes and priorities. Keywords—Congestion pricing, differentiated services, priority queues, rate control, routing.

Priority based Packet Scheduling Approach for Wireless Sensor Networks
A priority based packet scheduling scheme is proposed which aims at scheduling different types of data packets, such as real time and non-real-time data packets at sensor nodes with resource constraints in Wireless Sensor Networks. Most of the existing packet-scheduling mechanisms of Wireless Sensor Networks use First Come First Served (FCFS), non-preemptive priority and preemptive priority sch...
متن کاملCross-layer Packet-dependant OFDM Scheduling Based on Proportional Fairness
This paper assumes each user has more than one queue, derives a new packet-dependant proportional fairness power allocation pattern based on the sum of weight capacity and the packet’s priority in users’ queues, and proposes 4 new cross-layer packet-dependant OFDM scheduling schemes based on proportional fairness for heterogeneous classes of traffic. Scenario 1, scenario 2 and scenario 3 lead r...

The packet scheduling scheme also scale the energy consumption and end-to-end information transmission delay in time period and ...
متن کاملEnhanced service differentiation for layered video multicast in differentiated service networks
An enhanced network service model for layered video multicast applications is presented for diffserv networks in this work, which consists of enhanced active queue management (AQM) and hierarchial priority marking. It is found from experiments that a straightforward application of the receiver-driven layer multicast (RLM) model to the diffserv network may perform poorer than to the best-effort ...
