An improved fast - response vacuum - UV resonance fluorescence CO instrument
نویسندگان
چکیده
The fast-response resonance fluorescence instrument for the airborne measurement of carbon monoxide described by Gerbig et al. [1996] was modified by implementing an improved optical filter with more efficient optics and an optimized resonance lamp. Besides reductions in size and weight, the new instrument achieves a sensitivity 10 times higher, a lower background (65 ppb compared with 250 ppb), and a faster time response (<0.1s) than the original instrument. The precision is _+ 1.5 ppb at an atmospheric mixing ratio of 100 ppb CO, and the detection limit is 3 ppb (20-) for an integration time of 1 s. First results from the North Atlantic Regional Aerosol Characterization Experiment (ACE-2) campaign during July 1997, when the new instrument was deployed aboard the U.K. Meteorological Office C-130 aircraft, are used to demonstrate the performance of the new instrument.

A new on-axis micro-spectrophotometer for combining Raman, fluorescence and UV/Vis absorption spectroscopy with macromolecular crystallography at the Swiss Light Source
The combination of X-ray diffraction experiments with optical methods such as Raman, UV/Vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy greatly enhances and complements the specificity of the obtained information. The upgraded version of the in situ on-axis micro-spectrophotometer, MS2, at the macromolecular crystallography beamline X10SA of the Swiss Light Source is presented. The instrument newl...

The aggregation behavior of anionic Cobalt(II) 4,4′,4ʺ,4‴-tetrasulfonated phthalocyanine, [Co(TSPc)4-] was studied at its various concentrations and different ionic strengths using optical absorption and resonance light scattering (RLS) spectroscopies in 5 mM phosphate buffer, pH 7.0 at 25 °C. The results show no aggregation behavior at concentration range of 5.1 × 10-6-7....
متن کاملProduction of a beam of highly vibrationally excited CO using perturbations.
An intense molecular beam of CO (X(1)Σ(+)) in high vibrational states (v = 17, 18) was produced by a new approach that we call PUMP - PUMP - PERTURB and DUMP. The basic idea is to access high vibrational states of CO e(3)Σ(-) via a two-photon doubly resonant transition that is perturbed by the A(1)Π state. DUMP -ing from this mixed (predominantly triplet) state allows access to high vibrational...
متن کاملPUMA Promotes Bax Translocation by Both Directly Interacting with Bax and Competitive Binding to Bcl-XL during UV-induced Apoptosis
Cell apoptosis induced by UV irradiation is a highly complex process in which different molecular signaling pathways are involved. PUMA has been proposed as an important regulator in UV irradiation-induced apoptosis. However, the molecular mechanism through which PUMA regulates apoptosis, especially how PUMA activates Bax in response to UV irradiation is still controversial. In this study, base...
