چکیده

We provide decomposition and quotienting results for multi-modal logic with respect to a composition operator, traditionally used for epistemic models, due to van Eijck et al. (Journal of Applied NonClassical Logics 21(3–4):397–425, 2011), that involves sets of atomic propositions and valuation functions from Kripke models. While the composition operator was originally defined only for epistemic S5 models, our results apply to the composition of any pair of Kripke models. In particular, our quotienting result extends a specific result in the above mentioned paper by van Eijck et al. for the composition of epistemic models with disjoint sets of atomic propositions to compositions of any two Kripke models regardless of their sets of atomic propositions. We also explore the complexity of the formulas we construct in our decomposition result. An Epistemic Strategy Logic ( Extended

There are many subtle issues concerning agent knowledge in settings where multiple agents act strategically. In the process of understanding these issues, there has been a proliferation of modal logics dealing with epistemic reasoning in strategic settings, e.g., [7, 8, 4]. The trend has been for these logics to contain large numbers of operators each of which combines several different concern...

A Logic for Reasoning about Justified Uncertain Beliefs

Justification logic originated from the study of the logic of proofs. However, in a more general setting, it may be regarded as a kind of explicit epistemic logic. In such logic, the reasons why a fact is believed are explicitly represented as justification terms. Traditionally, the modeling of uncertain beliefs is crucially important for epistemic reasoning. While graded modal logics interpret...

A Logic for Reasoning about Explicit Knowledge in Finite Agents (Abstract)

The Problem Epistemic logics are logics for reasoning about knowledge in systems of agents. Traditional modal epistemic logics are information-theoretical, in the sense that they consider knowledge about propositions and that agents know everything that follows from the information they possess. Although proved useful in many applications, this view is unrealistic when modeling explicit knowled...

An Epistemic Operator for Description Logics

Description iogics (aiso caiied terminoiogicai iogics, or concept ianguagesj are fragments of first-order logic that provide a formal account of the basic features of frame-based systems. However, there are aspects of frame-based systems-such as nonmonotonic reasoning and procedural rules-that cannot be characterized in a standard first-order framework. Such features are needed for real applica...
