Leche de higueron is the sap of the Ficus ZuurifoZia (1, 2)) a tree which is very closely related to the domestic fig tree.’ It has been widely used as a general anthelmintic by the natives of South America and Panama and its anthelmintic action confirmed by several medical investigators who have noticed that it was particularly effective against Trichuris trichiura. The most recent work on this subject is that of Dr. Caldwell (4) of the International Health Board stationed in Andalusia, Alabama, who kindly furnished us with the material which we have used in these
