چکیده

Summarn Recognition of psychological distress in patients with cancer. some of which can be ameliorated With appropriate intervention. is a crucial aspect of patient care. Previous studies, with the exception of one. indicate that oncologists often fail to detect general distress and do not identify those patients with significant psychological disorder. As approximately 25-30% of patients experience anxiety and or depression severe enough to merit psychological intervention. this is a serious problem. This study assessed the ability of five oncologists to recognise distress in newly referred out-patients who were receiving bad news. Self-report measures of the oncologists' satisfaction with their performance during the bad news interviews were also collected. Each patient had two clinical interviews in which information concerning diagnosis and treatment

Covariance matrix based elastic multi-channel image registration

G. K. Rohde, S. Pajevic, C. Pierpaoli, P. J. Basser National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland, United States SYNOPSIS: With the advent of new MR imaging modalities such as DT-MRI, MRA, and CSI, demand for image registration procedures capable of dealing with multi-channel image data has increased. A novel method based on multivariate linear correlation is proposed to align two multi-cha...

CSI-SF: Estimating Wireless Channel State Using CSI Sampling & Fusion

One of the key features of high speed WLAN such as 802.11n is the use of MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) antenna technology. The MIMO channel is described with fine granularity by Channel State Information (CSI) that can be utilized in many ways to improve network performance. Many complex parameters of a MIMO system require numerous samples to obtain CSI for all possible channel configur...

Comparison of therapeutic dosimetric data from passively scattered proton and photon craniospinal irradiations for medulloblastoma

BACKGROUND For many decades, the standard of care radiotherapy regimen for medulloblastoma has been photon (megavoltage x-rays) craniospinal irradiation (CSI). The late effects associated with CSI are well-documented in the literature and are in-part attributed to unwanted dose to healthy tissue. Recently, there is growing interest in using proton therapy for CSI in pediatric and adolescent pat...

Chromosaponin I specifically interacts with AUX1 protein in regulating the gravitropic response of Arabidopsis roots.

We have found that chromosaponin I (CSI), a gamma-pyronyl-triterpenoid saponin isolated from pea (Pisum sativum L. cv Alaska), specifically interacts with AUX1 protein in regulating the gravitropic response of Arabidopsis roots. Application of 60 microM CSI disrupts the vertically oriented elongation of wild-type roots grown on agar plates but orients the elongation of agravitropic mutant aux1-...

A review of dosimetric and toxicity modeling of proton versus photon craniospinal irradiation for pediatrics medulloblastoma.

BACKGROUND Craniospinal irradiation (CSI) is the standard radiation therapy treatment for medulloblastoma. Conventional CSI photon therapy (Photon-CSI) delivers significant dose to surrounding normal tissue (NT). Research into pediatric CSI with proton therapy (Proton-CSI) has increased, with the aim of exploiting the potential to reduce NT dose and associated post-treatment complications. This...
