Spectral Asymptotics for Schrödinger Operators with Periodic Point Interactions

چکیده
Spectrum of the second-order differential operator with periodic point interactions in L2 R is investigated. Classes of unitary equivalent operators of this type are described. Spectral asymptotics for the whole family of periodic operators are calculated. It is proven that the first several terms in the asymptotics determine the class of equivalent operators uniquely. It is proven that the spectrum of the operators with anomalous spectral asymptotics (when the ratio between the lengths of the bands and gaps tends to zero at infinity) can be approximated by standard periodic “weighted” operators with step-wise density functions. It is shown that this sequence of periodic weighted operators converges in the norm resolvent sense to the formal (generalized) resolvent of the periodic “Schrödinger operator” with certain energy-dependent boundary conditions. The operator acting in an extended Hilbert space such that its resolvent restricted to L2 R coincides with the formal resolvent is constructed explicitly. 2002 Elsevier Science

Spectral gaps of Schrödinger operators with periodic singular potentials
By using quasi–derivatives we develop a Fourier method for studying the spectral gaps of one dimensional Schrödinger operators with periodic singular potentials v. Our results reveal a close relationship between smoothness of potentials and spectral gap asymptotics under a priori assumption v ∈ H loc (R). They extend and strengthen similar results proved in the classical case v ∈ L loc (R).
متن کاملZero-threshold resolvent asymptotics of three-body Schrödinger operators
We analyze the spectral properties for three-body Schrödinger operators at the threshold zero and give some results on the asymptotics of resolvent under the condition that zero is a regular point for all two-body Subhamiltonians.
متن کاملSemiclassical Asymptotics and Gaps in the Spectra of Periodic Schrödinger Operators with Magnetic Wells
We show that, under some very weak assumption of effective variation for the magnetic field, a periodic Schrödinger operator with magnetic wells on a noncompact Riemannian manifold M such that H(M, R) = 0 equipped with a properly disconnected, cocompact action of a finitely generated, discrete group of isometries has an arbitrarily large number of spectral gaps in the semi-classical limit.
متن کاملOne-dimensional Schrödinger Operators with Δ′-interactions on Cantor-type Sets
We introduce a novel approach for defining a δ′-interaction on a subset of the real line of Lebesgue measure zero which is based on Sturm– Liouville differential expression with measure coefficients. This enables us to establish basic spectral properties (e.g., self-adjointness, lower semiboundedness and spectral asymptotics) of Hamiltonians with δ′-interactions concentrated on sets of complica...
متن کاملSpectral Asymptotics for Perturbed Spherical Schrödinger Operators and Applications to Quantum Scattering
We find the high energy asymptotics for the singular Weyl–Titchmarsh m-functions and the associated spectral measures of perturbed spherical Schrödinger operators (also known as Bessel operators). We apply this result to establish an improved local Borg–Marchenko theorem for Bessel operators as well as uniqueness theorems for the radial quantum scattering problem with nontrivial angular momentum.
