چکیده

A vasoconstrição hipóxica pulmonar (VHP) foi descrita pela primeira vez por Bindsley et al. em pacientes adultos e foi tratada com a inserção de cateter de duplo lúmen para ventilar um dos pulmões com oxigênio a 100% e outro com N2 a 95% e oxigênio a 5% durante anestesia venosa com barbitúrico e fentanil.1 No entanto, a ‘‘inibição da VHP’’ tem sido predominantemente atribuída ao uso de agentes inalatórios e é considerada como causa de hipóxia durante a anestesia. Além disso, estudos tanto in vitro quanto in vivo demonstraram que os agentes inalatórios inibem a VHP em várias condições2--5 e sevoflurano demonstrou diminuir a VHP de modo dose-dependente.4,6,7
