چکیده
There are three multiplexing schemes for Multi-Input MultiOutput (MIMO) channel sounder Time-division multiplexing (TDM), Code-division multiplexing (CDM) and Frequencydivision multiplexing (FDM). The purpose of this paper is comparison overview of multiplexing schemes for MIMO channel sounder. In this paper TDM, FDM and CDM techniques for MIMO channel sounding are considered. TDM, FDM and CDM multiplexing schemes have pros and cons in different aspects. The comparison between multiplexing techniques has been considered in terms of real-time measurement, hardware cost effectiveness and major drawbacks.

Uplink Channel Sounding in TDD-OFDM Cellular Systems
In this paper, we consider uplink channel sounding in time division duplex (TDD) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-based cellular systems. The channel information provided by uplink sounding may be necessary to exploit closed loop transmission techniques in TDD-OFDM systems. However, conventional sounding schemes may suffer from large sounding overhead, significantly restricting...

This paper presents a low-cost MIMO channel sounding technique with a fully parallel transceiver architecture that employs a simple time division multiplexing scheme. It aims at both of directional channel measurement using MIMO antennas and MIMO channel measurements for transmission performance evaluation. This paper describes the principle of the channel sounding technique and discusses the s...

In multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) systems, spatial multiplexing can be employed to increase the throughput without the need for multiple antennas and expensive signal processing at the user equipments. In theory, MU-MIMO is also more immune to most of propagation limitations plaguing single-user MIMO (SU-MIMO) systems, such as channel rank loss or antenna correlation. In th...
متن کاملAntenna Multiplexing & Time Alignment for Mimo Channel Sounding
This paper addresses real-time multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) radio channel sounding. To avoid expensive transmitter-receiver chains antenna multiplexing is well suited for that application. However, the sequential measurement principle entails different time lags between the antenna channels. We show how the observed impulse responses can be aligned using classical interpolation methods...
متن کاملFDM based MIMO Spatio-Temporal Channel Sounder
In this paper, implementation of Multi-Input Multi-Output (MIMO) channel sounder is considered, taking hardware cost and realtime measurement into account. MIMO sounder needs some kind of multiplexing to distinguish between transmitting antennas. We compared three types of multiplexing, i.e. TDM, FDM, and CDM, for the sounding purpose in terms of realtime measurement, hardware cost, and major d...
