Homogenizing media containing a highly conductive honeycomb substructure

چکیده
Abstract. The present paper deals with the homogenization of the heat conduction which takes place in a binary three-dimensional medium consisting of an ambiental phase having conductivity of unity order and a rectangular honeycomb structure formed by a set of thin layers crossing orthogonally and periodically. We consider the case when the conductivity of the thin layers is in inverse proportion to the vanishing volume of the rectangular honeycomb structure. We find the system that governs the asymptotic behaviour of the temperature distribution of this binary medium. The dependence with respect to the thicknesses of the layers is also emphasized. We use an energetic method associated to a natural control-zone of the vanishing domain. Mathematical Subject Classification (2000). 35B27, 35K57, 76R50.

Atmospheric-Pressure Plasma Reduction of Metal Cation-Containing Polymer Films to Produce Electrically Conductive Nanocomposites by an Electrodiffusion Mechanism
We describe an atmospheric-pressure plasma process for the reduction of metal cation-containing polymer films to form electrically conductive patterns. Thin films of poly(acrylic) acid (PAA) containing silver ions (Ag) were prepared by mixing the polymer with silver nitrate (AgNO3) in solution to produce a cross-linked precipitate, homogenizing, and depositing onto a substrate by doctor’s blade...
متن کاملHighly-iodinated fullerene as a contrast agent for X-ray imaging.
The first fullerene-based X-ray contrast agent (CA) has been designed, synthesized, and characterized. The new CA is an externally functionalized derivative of C60 that is conceptually based on contemporary X-ray CA, all of which use iodine as the X-ray attenuating vehicle and are based on the 2,4,6-triiodinated-benzene-ring substructure. Using a modified Bingel-type reaction, a single addend c...
متن کاملSocial media enhances languages differentiation : a mathematical description Ignacio Vidal - Franco
Understanding and predicting the evolution of competing languages is a topic of high interest in a world with more than 6000 languages competing in a highly connected environment. We consider a reasonable mathematical model describing a situation of competition between two languages and analyse the effect of the speakers’ connectivity (i.e. social networks). Surprisingly, instead of homogenizin...
متن کاملThe result of hearing in patients treated by surgery due to chronic otitis media
Background: Hearing loss due to chronic otitis media is common. The purpose of this study was to evaluate hearing before and after canal wall up, canal wall down mastoidectomy and tympanoplasty. Methods: From 2004 to 2007, all patients with chronic otitis media who were admitted at the Department of Otolaryngology, Babol Medical University were studied. For 126 patients' canal wall up, canal wa...
متن کاملThree-dimensional Magnetotelluric Modeling of data from Northeast of Gorgan Plain
Magnetotelluric measurements have been conducted in the period range of 0.005-128 s along five parallel east-west directed profiles including 85 sites totally in the north-eastern part of Gorgan Plain, Golestan Province, North of Iran; with the aim of exploring iodine. Distortion and dimensionality analysis of data imply the existence of a north-south elongated two-dimensional model with some l...
