چکیده

The paper is aimed at experimentally analyzing the different DAC glitch definitions and measurement methods proposed in literature and adopted by manufacturers. Unfortunately, in fact, there is no universally accepted and unambiguous definition of a glitch. Therefore, the presented research work can give contributions and ideas for discussions focused to solve this problem and develop a new standard dealing with DAC terminology and test methods. An experimental analysis has been carried out and the obtained results have been critically analyzed to provide possible indications for the definition of a univocal and reproducible glitch measurement method.

A low-glitch binary-weighted DAC with delay compensation scheme

This paper presents a high-speed, low-glitch, and low-power design for a 10-bit binary-weighted currentsteering digital-to-analog converter (DAC). Instead of using large input buffers to drive a lot of current switches and re-timing latches, the proposed design uses variabledelay buffers with a compact layout to compensate for the delay difference among different bits, and to reduce glitch ener...

A 100-MHz CMOS DAC for video-graphic systems - Solid-State Circuits, IEEE Journal of

A 6-bit weighted-current-sink video digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with 10-90 percent rise/fall time of 4 ns, integrated with a double-metal 3pm CMOS technology, is described. Current-source matching, glitch reduction, and differential switch driving aspects are considered. A new circuit solution and a nonconventional layout technique yield a high conversion rate with a standard CMOS technol...

A 12-Bit 1-Gsample/s Nyquist Current-Steering DAC in 0.35 µm CMOS for Wireless Transmitter

The present work deals with 12-bit Nyquist current-steering CMOS digital-to-analog converter (DAC) which is an essential part in baseband section of wireless transmitter circuits. Using oversampling ratio (OSR) for the proposed DAC leads to avoid use of an active analog reconstruction filter. The optimum segmentation (75%) has been used to get the best DNL and reduce glitch energy. This segment...

Design and Analysis of CMOS Thermometer Current Steering DAC to Remove Non-Linearity

The Current Steering Data Converter with Thermometer technique is designed and analyzed utilizing 180nm technology in Cadence Virtuoso Simulation tool along with power supply of 1. 8 V. Implementation of DAC is accomplished in such a manner that the output results subsume less non-linearities and less glitches. A novel design is proposed to ameliorate the differential non-linearities and glitch...
