Nonovarian gynecologic cysts: MR imaging findings.
نویسنده
چکیده
MR imaging has improved the detection and characterization of cysts arising in the ovaries. Although they are less common, cysts also can develop in the endocervical glands (nabothian cysts), labia (Bartholin’s cysts), vaginal wall (Gartner’s cysts), and broad ligament (paratubal cysts). Findings on pelvic MR imaging were reviewed to determine the preyalence and MR features of gynecologic cysts arising outside the ovary.

evaluation of communication between intracranial arachnoid cysts and cisterns with phase-contrast cine MR imaging.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE The demonstration of communication between arachnoid cysts (ACs) and the adjacent subarachnoid space is a prerequisite for their proper management. CT cisternography (CTC) is the conventional method for functional evaluation of ACs. The sensitivity of MR imaging to CSF flow has been demonstrated, but reports of the clinical usefulness of MR CSF flow techniques in this app...
متن کاملCSF flow studies of intracranial cysts and cyst-like lesions achieved using reversed fast imaging with steady-state precession MR sequences.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Differentiating between intracranial cysts or cyst-like structures and communicating or noncommunicating cysts is often not possible with cranial CT or nonfunctional MR imaging. We evaluated a retrospective ECG-gated fast imaging with steady-state precession (PSIF) MR sequence with optional cine mode to differentiate cystic masses from enlarged CSF spaces and to determine...
متن کاملMR of nasolabial cysts.
We report the MR imaging findings in two cases of nasolabial cysts. Demonstration of their extraosseous location with cross-sectional imaging should prevent confusion with maxillary cysts and obviate unwarranted dental or maxillary surgery.
متن کاملPituitary cysts in childhood evaluated by MR imaging.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Pituitary cysts are common findings on pathologic examination and imaging studies. They are generally considered to be rarer in children than in adults; however, no good data exist to substantiate this opinion. We reviewed MR imaging studies to evaluate the frequency and imaging features of pituitary cysts in children. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed T1-weighted sag...
متن کاملImproved specificity of the CA 125 enzyme immunoassay for ovarian carcinomas by use of the ratio of CA 125 to carcinoembryonic antigen.
We found that ovarian cyst fluids contained carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) and CA 19-9 and CA 125 tumor markers. However, only the ratio of CA 125 to CEA concentrations provided sufficient specificity to differentiate serous from mucinous cysts. For CEA measurement, our results suggested the use of a monoclonal CEA kit. When CEA was determined with a Hybritech monoclonal CEA kit, all ratios in ...
