چکیده

Diameter—the task of computing the length of a longest shortest path—is a fundamental graph problem. Assuming the Strong Exponential Time Hypothesis, there is no O(n)time algorithm even in sparse graphs [Roditty and Williams, 2013]. To circumvent this lower bound we aim for algorithms with running time f(k)(n+m) where k is a parameter and f is a function as small as possible. For our choices of k we systematically explore a hierarchy of structural graph parameters.

Hardness of r-dominating set on Graphs of Diameter (r + 1)

The dominating set problem has been extensively studied in the realm of parameterized complexity. It is one of the most common sources of reductions while proving the parameterized intractability of problems. In this paper, we look at dominating set and its generalization r-dominating set on graphs of bounded diameter in the realm of parameterized complexity. We show that Dominating set remains...

Parameterized computational complexity of finding small-diameter subgraphs

Finding subgraphs of small diameter in undirected graphs has been seemingly unexplored from a parameterized complexity perspective. We perform the first parameterized complexity study on the corresponding NP-hard s-Club problem. We consider two parameters: the solution size and its dual.

Parameterized Complexity of Finding a Spanning Tree with Minimum Reload Cost Diameter

We study the minimum diameter spanning tree problem under the reload cost model (DiameterTree for short) introduced by Wirth and Steffan (2001). In this problem, given an undirected edge-colored graph G, reload costs on a path arise at a node where the path uses consecutive edges of different colors. The objective is to find a spanning tree of G of minimum diameter with respect to the reload co...

On Structural Parameterizations of Firefighting

The Firefighting problem is defined as follows. At time t = 0, a fire breaks out at a vertex of a graph. At each time step t > 0, a firefighter permanently defends (protects) an unburned vertex, and the fire then spread to all undefended neighbors from the vertices on fire. This process stops when the fire cannot spread anymore. The goal is to find a sequence of vertices for the firefighter tha...

ADAPTIVE FUZZY TRACKING CONTROL FOR A CLASS OF PERTURBED NONLINEARLY PARAMETERIZED SYSTEMS USING MINIMAL LEARNING PARAMETERS ALGORITHM

In this paper, an adaptive fuzzy tracking control approach is proposed for a class of single-inputsingle-output (SISO) nonlinear systems in which the unknown continuous functions may be nonlinearlyparameterized. During the controller design procedure, the fuzzy logic systems (FLS) in Mamdani type are applied to approximate the unknown continuous functions, and then, based on the minimal learnin...
