چکیده
A similar error occurs in the figure legend for Supplementary Fig. 16. The figure legend should read: ‘Supplementary Fig. 16: Distribution of simulated trajectory lengths. For the (a) apo and (b) holo CaM systems, 12,184 and 9,995 trajectories were simulated for a total time of 256 and 455 ms, respectively. Trajectories shorter than the lag time at which the MSMs were built were eliminated from subsequent analysis.’

The role of conformational entropy in molecular recognition by calmodulin
The physical basis for high-affinity interactions involving proteins is complex and potentially involves a range of energetic contributions. Among these are changes in protein conformational entropy, which cannot yet be reliably computed from molecular structures. We have recently used changes in conformational dynamics as a proxy for changes in conformational entropy of calmodulin upon associa...
متن کاملRecognition pliability is coupled to structural heterogeneity: a calmodulin intrinsically disordered binding region complex.
Protein interactions within regulatory networks should adapt in a spatiotemporal-dependent dynamic environment, in order to process and respond to diverse and versatile cellular signals. However, the principles governing recognition pliability in protein complexes are not well understood. We have investigated a region of the intrinsically disordered protein myelin basic protein (MBP(145-165)) t...
متن کاملCorrigendum: Calmodulin is responsible for Ca2+-dependent regulation of TRPA1 Channels
TRPA1 is a Ca2+-permeable ion channel involved in many sensory disorders such as pain, itch and neuropathy. Notably, the function of TRPA1 depends on Ca2+, with low Ca2+ potentiating and high Ca2+ inactivating TRPA1. However, it remains unknown how Ca2+ exerts such contrasting effects. Here, we show that Ca2+ regulates TRPA1 through calmodulin, which binds to TRPA1 in a Ca2+-dependent manner. C...
متن کاملEnergy landscape views for interplays among folding, binding, and allostery of calmodulin domains.
Ligand binding modulates the energy landscape of proteins, thus altering their folding and allosteric conformational dynamics. To investigate such interplay, calmodulin has been a model protein. Despite much attention, fully resolved mechanisms of calmodulin folding/binding have not been elucidated. Here, by constructing a computational model that can integrate folding, binding, and allosteric ...
متن کاملConformational Changes of Calmodulin on Calcium and Peptide Binding Monitored by Film Bulk Acoustic Resonators
Film bulk acoustic resonators (FBAR) are mass sensitive, label-free biosensors that allow monitoring of the interaction between biomolecules. In this paper we use the FBAR to measure the binding of calcium and the CaMKII peptide to calmodulin. Because the mass of the calcium is too small to be detected, the conformational change caused by the binding process is measured by monitoring the resona...
