چکیده

Previous studies have found that factors that improved assessment center (AC) constructrelated validity also had beneficial effects on criterion-related validity. However, some factors might have diverging effects on constructand criterion-related validity. Accordingly, we followed recent calls to evaluate constructand criterion-related validity of ACs simultaneously by examining the effects of the factor exercise similarity on both aspects of validity within a single study. Data were collected in an AC (N = 92) that consisted of two different types of exercises. Convergent validity was better for similar exercises than it was for dissimilar exercises. However, regarding criterion-related validity, we did not find differences between similar and dissimilar exercises. Hence, this study revealed that improvements in AC construct-related validity are not necessarily paralleled by improvements in criterion-related validity.

Incorporating Biological Domain Knowledge into Cluster Validity Assessment

This paper presents an approach for assessing cluster validity based on similarity knowledge extracted from the Gene Ontology (GO) and databases annotated to the GO. A knowledge-driven cluster validity assessment system for microarray data was implemented. Different methods were applied to measure similarity between yeast genes products based on the GO. This research proposes two methods for ca...

Checklist for the qualitative evaluation of clinical studies with particular focus on external validity and model validity

BACKGROUND It is often stated that external validity is not sufficiently considered in the assessment of clinical studies. Although tools for its evaluation have been established, there is a lack of awareness of their significance and application. In this article, a comprehensive checklist is presented addressing these relevant criteria. METHODS The checklist was developed by listing the most...

Overall similarity and consistency assessment scores are not sufficiently accurate for predicting discrepancy between direct and indirect comparison estimates

OBJECTIVES Indirect comparison methods have been increasingly used to assess the effectiveness of different interventions comparatively. This study evaluated a Trial Similarity and Evidence Consistency Assessment (TSECA) framework for assessing key assumptions underlying the validity of indirect comparisons. STUDY DESIGN AND SETTING We applied the TSECA framework to 94 Cochrane Systematic Rev...
