A new chance-constrained DEA model with birandom input and output data

چکیده
The purpose of conventional Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is to evaluate the performance of a set of firms or Decision-Making Units using deterministic input and output data. However, the input and output data in the real-life performance evaluation problems are often stochastic. The stochastic input and output data in DEA can be represented with random variables. Several methods have been proposed to deal with the random input and output data in DEA. In this paper, we propose a new chance-constrained DEAmodel with birandom input and output data. A super-efficiency model with birandom constraints is formulated and a non-linear deterministic equivalent model is obtained to solve the super-efficiency model. The non-linear model is converted into a model with quadratic constraints to solve the non-linear deterministic model. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis is performed to assess the robustness of the proposed super-efficiency model. Finally, two numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed chance-constrained DEA model and sensitivity analysis. A Chance-Constrained DEA model with random input and output data:Considering maintenance groups of Iranian Aluminum Company
In this paper, we use an input oriented chance-constrained DEA model withrandom inputs and outputs. A super-eciency model with chance constraintsis used for ranking. However, for convenience in calculations a non-linear deterministicequivalent model is obtained to solve the models. The non-linearmodel is converted into a model with quadratic constraints to solve the nonlineardeterministic model...
متن کاملDATA ENVELOPMENT ANALYSIS WITH FUZZY RANDOM INPUTS AND OUTPUTS: A CHANCE-CONSTRAINED PROGRAMMING APPROACH
In this paper, we deal with fuzzy random variables for inputs andoutputs in Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). These variables are considered as fuzzyrandom flat LR numbers with known distribution. The problem is to find a method forconverting the imprecise chance-constrained DEA model into a crisp one. This can bedone by first, defuzzification of imprecise probability by constructing a suitablem...
متن کاملThe Optimistic-Pessimistic Ranking in the Chance Constrained DEA
Recently, Khodabakhshi and Aryavash have introduced a ranking method [Applied Mathematics Letters, 25 (2012) 2066-2070.], which is based on an optimistic-pessimistic approach of data envelopment analysis (DEA). This method ranks all decision making units according to a combination of their minimum and maximum possible efficiency scores which are determined by solving two linear programming mo...
متن کاملA class of chance constrained multiobjective linear programming with birandom coefficients and its application to vendors selection
In this paper, a class of chance constrained multiobjective linear programming model with birandom coefficients is considered for vendor selection problem. Firstly we present a crisp equivalent model for a special case and give a traditional method for crisp model. Then, the technique of birandom simulation is applied to deal with general birandom objective functions and birandom constraints wh...
متن کاملAllocation efficiency in network DEA
The present study is an attempt towards remodeling cost, revenue and profit relationship within the network process. The previous models of Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) have been too general in their scope and focused on the input and the output within a black box system, therefore they have not been able to measure various phases simultaneously within a network system. By using these mod...
