چکیده

The CollabLogger is a visual tool that supports usability analyses of human-computer interaction in a team environment. Participants in our computer-mediated activity were engaged in a small-scale manufacturing testbed project. Interactions of the group were mediated by Teamwave Workplace and the members performed both synchronous and asynchronous activities depending on their availability, project requirements, and due to chance meetings in the collaborative space. The software was instrumented to log users’ interactions with the system and each other. The CollabLogger addresses the problem of helping investigators analyze the volumes of log data that groupware tools can generate. Visual tools are powerful when large amounts of diverse data present themselves. The place-based collaboration environment offered by Teamwave Workplace provided a level of organization that allowed us to create a visual interface with which to perform exploratory sequential data analysis. Preliminary use of the tool shows that usability engineers can employ the visual display to form hypotheses about subject’s interactions with the GUI interface and with each other.

Visualizing Repertory Grid Data for Formative Assessment

Repertory grid tools systematically collect data that consists of a topic, its elements, constructs and element ratings. Gaining meaningful insights from repertory grids data is a challenge because data analysis is timeconsuming and a significant mental effort is needed. Visualizations aim at facilitating data analysis through a visual and interactive approach, which allows users to understand ...

Analyzing and Visualizing Whole Program Architectures

This paper describes our work to develop new tool support for analyzing and visualizing the architecture of complete large-scale (millions or more lines of code) programs. Our approach consists of (i) creating a compact, accurate representation of a whole C or C++ program, (ii) analyzing the program in this representation, and (iii) visualizing the analysis results with respect to the program’s...

Scaffold network generator: a tool for mining molecular structures

SUMMARY Scaffold network generator (SNG) is an open-source command-line utility that computes the hierarchical network of scaffolds that define a large set of input molecules. Scaffold networks are useful for visualizing, analysing and understanding the chemical data that is increasingly available through large public repositories like PubChem. For example, some groups have used scaffold networ...
