چکیده

The presence of granuloma in a biopsy specimen is not specific to sarcoidosis, and sarcoid-like granulomatous reaction can be found in chronic inflammatory, infectious and neoplastic diseases. Sarcoid reaction may occur in lymph nodes draining an area housing a malignant tumor, in the tumor itself and in nonregional tissues. Overall, sarcoid reaction occurs in 4.4% of cancers, 13.8% of patients with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and in 7.3% of cases with NHL. In some occasions sarcoid reactions may be extensive and may complicate the diagnosis of an underlying malignant disease. On the other hand, granulomatous reactions have been reported after drug therapy including anticancer chemotherapy. Here, we reported a case with granulomatous orchitis, which was diagnosed after 1 year of the completion of chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Hodgkin's disease with a granulomatous pulmonary presentation mimicking sarcoidosis.

A prominent sarcoid like pulmonary granulomatous reaction to Hodgkin's disease was diagnosed six months before extrapulmonary Hodgkin's disease was confirmed histologically. It recurred with exacerbations of the lymphoma. The reaction is similar to that often seen at pathological staging of intra-abdominal organs not affected by Hodgkin's disease.

The role of flow cytometry in the diagnosis of non- Hodgkin's lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, granulomatous inflammation and reactive lymph node specimens.

PURPOSE In this study we aimed to compare the flow cytometry (FC) results of patients with B cell lymphoma, T cell lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma, granulomatous inflammation and reactive lymph node and investigate the role of FC in malignant or non malignant conditions. METHODS Ninety patients were divided into 5 groups according to histopathology results. Patients were compared according to cy...

Evaluation of prognostic factors affecting long and short term survival rates of Hodgkin's lymphoma patients using the cure fraction models

Background and Aim: This study aimed to analyze the factors affecting time and experience of relapse in the patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma, using cure fraction. Material and Methods: This retrospective study included all the patients diagnosed as Hodgkin's lymphoma in the Center for oncology and hematology in Shafa Hospital in Ahwaz City from 2002 to 2012. We used survival analysis and cure f...

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor mimicking a relapse in a patient with Hodgkin's lymphoma: report of an unusual case and review of the literature

New PET-positive lesions in previously treated patients with lymphomatous malignancies need further investigations. Relapse, sarcoidosis and secondary malignancies are the most important differential diagnosis. Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMT) is a rare complication after treatment of Hodgkin's disease and every PET-positive lesion should be biopsied to prevent unnecessary intervention.

T-cell-rich B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma mimicking Hodgkin's disease.

We report on a patient with recurrent T-cell-rich B-cell lymphoma (TCRBCL), initially misdiagnosed as a lymphocyte-rich Hodgkin's disease. This case exemplifies the diagnostic problems of TCRBCL and the need for immunophenotypic analysis to differentiate TCRBCL from Hodgkin's disease, nodular paragranuloma and peripheral T-cell lymphoma. A rather unusual aspect is the long disease-free interval...
