چکیده

Magnetoinductive e ects in ferromagnetic conductors can be used for various sensors. Although the principle has been known for a long time, the usefulness of these e ects for practical applications was recognized recently, and intensive investigations began. Magnetoinductive e ects are related to magnetization of a magnetic conductor (wire, strip, thin lm, etc.) by a magnetic eld, which is produced by an electric current passing through the conductor itself. lf the current is varying with time, the magnetic ux in the conductor also varies and induces the electromotive force, which is superimposed to the ohmic voltage between its ends. For instance, in a wire with a circular cross section, the circumferential magnetic eld H induced by a constant current with the density j is H = jr=2, where r is the distance from the wire axis. For a wire of diameter 1 mm and the current density of 106 A/m , which is low enough so as not to greatly increase the temperature by joule heating, the maximum magnitude of a magnetic eld on the wire surface is 250 A/m. To get suÆciently high magnetoinductive voltage, which can be easily detected on the ohmic background signal, the circumferential reversal of the conductor magnetization must take place in magnetic elds of this order or lower. Therefore, good soft magnetic metals with high circumferential permeability are required for such applications.

Gamma Irradiation Effect on Asymmetric Giant Magnetoimpedance of Co68.15Fe4.35Si12.5B15 Amorphous Alloy

The giant magneto impedance (GMI) effect is a large variation in the electrical impedance of a magnetic conductor when subjected to a static magnetic field. The sensitivity to the direction (AGMI) and magnitude of applied  magnetic field    and also linearity levels   of this  effect are three important parameters in magnetic sensors application. A suitable annealing procedure can be used to ac...

Processing the Double Channel MGG Signal Based on Independent Component Analysis

Giant Magnetoimpedance (GMI) sensor is the hot research topics in sensor engineering. In this paper we setup a double channel acquisition system for MGG signal. Then FastICA algorithm is applied in the raw data and We get the spectrum after ICA processing. The results show that ICA is powerful tool for MGG signal processing to separate the noise signal. Introduction Recently giant Magnetoimpeda...

Effect of Joule-Heating Annealing on Giant Magnetoimpedance of Co64Fe4Ni2B19-xSi8Cr3Alx (x = 0, 1 and 2) Melt-Spun Ribbons

In this work, we have studied the influence of dc joule-heating thermal processing on the structure, magnetoimpedance (MI) and thermal properties of Co64Fe4Ni2B19-xSi8Cr3Alx (x = 0, 1, and 2) rapidly solidified melt-spun ribbons. The nanocrystallization process was carried out by the current annealing of as-spun samples at various current densities. As-spun and joule-heated samples were studied...

The Disturbing Effect of the Stray Magnetic Fields on Magnetoimpedance Sensors

The disturbing effect of the stray magnetic fields of Fe-based amorphous ribbons on the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) sensor has been investigated systematically in this paper. Two simple methods were used for examining the disturbing effect of the stray magnetic fields of ribbons on the GMI sensor. In order to study the influence of the stray magnetic fields on the GMI effect, the square-shaped...

Low-cost Sensors Based on the GMI Effect in Recycled Transformer Cores

Sensors based on the giant magnetoimpedance (GMI) effect in silicon steelswere constructed. Strips of silicon steels (0.500 mm-thick, 35.0 mm-long) with widthsranging from 0.122 to 1.064 mm were cut from recycled transformer cores. Since amaximum GMI ratio of 300% and a maximum field sensitivity of 1.5%/Oe were observedin a 1.064 mm-wide sample at 200 kHz, the 1.064 mm-wide strips were chosen a...
