چکیده
CAMERON, C. M., 1980. Effective immunization of lambs against enterotoxaemia. Onderstepoort Journal of Veterinary Research, 47, 287-289 (1980). In contrast to adult sheep, 2to 3-month-old lambs do not respond well to a single injection of Clostridium perfringens Type D oil adjuvant epsilon toxoid. This unresponsiveness can be overcome, however, by administering 2 injections of oil adjuvant vaccine or one injection of oil adjuvant followed 4 weeks later by an injection of alum-precipitated toxoid. The latter procedure evokes protective antitoxin levels which persist for 8 months, and a booster injection of alum-precipitated toxoid given at this stage results in an immunity which lasts for at least 1 year.

The effect of passive immunization on active immunity against Clostridium perfringens type D in lambs.
Lambs in different stages of development of active immunity against Clostridium perfringens type D were treated with partially purified immunoglobulin in an attempt to superimpose a passive immunity on an existing or developing active immunity. Three different studies were undertaken to determine the impact of partial purified immunoglobulins on these vaccinated animals. In 2 of the 3 studies, ...

Antibody response against hydatid fluid, protoscolex and whole body of Echinococcus granulosus antigens in lambs
In this study, the immunogenicity of three types of antigens (hydatid fluid, protoscolices and whole body of E. granulosus) was investigated in lambs by ELISA. Sixteen 4–6-month-old lambs of mixed sexes were divided into 4 groups of 4 lambs (three immunized and one control group). Twelve lambs as immunized groups received 2 mg of hydatid fluid, protoscolices and whole body of E. granulosus ant...
متن کاملComparison of Immune Responses Following the Administration of Enterotoxaemia Vaccine in Sheep and Goats
Antibody responses in sixty clinically healthy pregnant sheep and goats were compared following the administration of enterotoxaemia vaccine. The thirty animals of each species were randomly divided into three groups. Antibody titers against C. perfringens type D epsilon toxin were detected in blood samples on day 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 post vaccination. In unvaccinated control groups, S-I (shee...
