چکیده

We consider the problem of multiparty secret key exchange. A \team" of players P1 through Pk wishes to determine an n-bit secret key in the presence of a compu-tationally unlimited eavesdropper, Eve. The team players are dealt hands of cards of prespeciied sizes from a deck of d distinct cards; any remaining cards are dealt to Eve. We explore how the team can use the information contained in their hands of cards to determine an n-bit key that is secret from Eve, that is, an n bit string which each team player knows exactly but for which Eve's probability of guessing the key correctly is 1=2 n both before and after she hears the communication between the team players. We describe randomized protocols for secret key exchange that work for certain classes of deals, and we present some conditions on the deal for such a protocol to exist.

An Efficient Protocol for Unconditionally Secure Secret

The multiparty secret key exchange problem is to nd a k-player protocol for generating an n-bit random key. At the end of the protocol, the key should be known to each player but remain completely secret from a computationally unlimited eavesdropper, Eve, who overhears all communication among the players. The players are initially dealt hands of cards of prespeciied sizes from a deck of distinc...

On the Average Length of Secret Key Exchange Eulerian Circuits

Designing a protocol to exchange a secret key is one of the most fundamental subjects in cryptography. Using a random deal of cards, pairs of card players (agents) can share secret keys that are information-theoretically secure against an eavesdropper. A key set protocol, which uses a random deal of cards, can perform an Eulerian secret key exchange, in which the pairs of players sharing secret...

Eulerian Secret Key Exchange ( Extended Abstract )

Designing a protocol to exchange a secret key is one of the most fundamental subjects in cryptography. Using a random deal of cards, pairs of card players (agents) can share information-theoretically secure keys that are secret from an eavesdropper. In this paper we first introduce the notion of an Eulerian secret key exchange, in which the pairs of players sharing secret keys form an Eulerian ...

Necessary and Sufficient Numbers of Cards for Sharing Secret Keys on Hierarchical Groups

Suppose that there are players in two hierarchical groups and a computationally unlimited eavesdropper. Using a random deal of cards, a player in the higher group wishes to send a one-bit message information-theoretically securely either to all the players in her group or to all the players in the two groups. This can be done by the so-called 2-level key set protocol. In this paper we give a ne...

Key Exchange with Cards: Generating Extra Bits in Expectation

One of the cornerstones of modern cryptography is the ability for trusted parties to establish a sequence of bits known only to themselves. Using that sequence of bits, they are able to send messages over an insecure channel, and an eavesdropper who does not know the secret bits cannot tell the difference between a legitimate message and a random one. In this paper we analyze an existing random...
