Accelerator, Reactor, Solar and Atmospheric Neutrino Oscillation: beyond Three Generations
نویسنده
چکیده
We perform a phenomenological analysis of neutrino oscillation in a four generation framework introducing an additional sterile neutrino. In such a scenario, more than one pattern is possible that can accommodate three hieararchically different mass squared differences as required by the present experiments. We considered two different spectrums. Choosing the ∆ms in the ranges suitable for the LSND, atmospheric and solar neutrino oscillation, limits on the mixing angles are derived, consistent with the most restrictive accelerator and reactor data as well as the atmospheric and solar neutrino results. The allowed mixing angles are found to be constrained very severely in both cases. For one mass pattern in the combined allowed zone the atmospheric anomaly can be explained by νe−νμ oscillation whereas for the other the νμ−ντ channel is preferred. The accelerator experiments CHORUS and NOMAD have different sensitivities in these regions and they can distinguish between the two choices.

Three Flavor Neutrino Oscillation Constraints from Accelerator, Reactor, Atmospheric and Solar Neutrino Experiments
We discuss constraints on three flavor neutrino mixings from the accelerator and reactor experiments, the Kamiokande multi-GeV data, and the solar neutrino observations. The LSND result is excluded at 90%CL by the constraints imposed by all the data of reactor and accelerator experiments and the Kamiokande multi-GeV data if the mass scale required for the solution to the solar neutrino problem ...

I review some theoretical aspects of neutrino oscillations in the case when more than two neutrino flavours are involved. These include: approximate analytic solutions for 3-flavour (3f) oscillations in matter; matter effects in νµ ↔ ντ oscillations; 3f effects in oscillations of solar, atmospheric, reactor and supernova neutrinos and in accelerator long-baseline experiments; CP and T violation...

Recent results from the Super-Kamiokande experiment [1] have confirmed, with high statistics, the reality of the solar [2] and atmospheric [3] neutrino anomalies. In the case of the atmospheric neutrino anomaly, the SuperKamiokande data can be interpreted as providing evidence that the anomaly is due to neutrino flavor mixing [4], and “long baseline” accelerator and reactor neutrino experiments...

We show that, in the framework of three light neutrino species with hierarchical masses and assuming no fine tuning between the entries of the neutrino mass matrix, one can use the solar neutrino data to obtain information on the element U(e3) of the lepton mixing matrix. Conversely, a measurement of U(e3) in atmospheric or long baseline accelerator or reactor neutrino experiments would help di...

We present a global analysis of neutrino oscillation data within the threeneutrino oscillation scheme, including in our fit all the current solar neutrino data, the reactor neutrino data from KamLAND and CHOOZ, the atmospheric neutrino data from Super-Kamiokande and MACRO, and the first data from the K2K long-baseline accelerator experiment. We determine the current best fit values and allowed ...
