Measuring the Quality of Precise Orbits by Applying InSAR: An approach to avoid orbital tuning
نویسندگان
چکیده
Since the quality of an inteferogram is still limited by the contributions of atmospheric variations and orbital uncertainties, the problem is to distinguish them from deformation signals. Thus, eliminating the geometric orbital error would improve the quality of an Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) image and make it easier to detect atmospheric artifacts. In this paper, we try to evaluate the quality of three different ERS orbit products (DUT, DLR and ESOC) by applying the InSAR processing software to the South Iceland Seismic Zone.

Several InSAR processing packages, free and for pay, are in common use by the science community today. The ready availability of precise orbit information for modern sensors leads to improvements in these packages that produce geodetically accurate interferograms, greatly improving the usability of the products. Placing the output pixels on known, precise grids also reduces the need for image m...

The purpose of this rersearch is to analyze the effective application of particular earth orbits in dynamical modeling of relative motion problem between two spacecraft. One challenge in implementing these motions is maintaining the relations as it experiences orbital perturbations (zonal harmonics J2 and J3), most notably due to the Earth’s oblateness. Certain aspects of the orbital geometry c...

To generate an accurate digital elevation model (DEM), Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) requires precise orbit data and baseline information, which are not always available. An alternative approach is to apply quality ground control points (GCPs) into the InSAR processing. However, locating high quality GCPs can also be difficult task, due to the low spatial resolution and radio...

S U M M A R Y Errors in the satellite orbits are considered to be a limitation for Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) time-series techniques to accurately measure long-wavelength (>50 km) ground displacements. Here we examine how orbital errors propagate into relative InSAR line-of-sight velocity fields and evaluate the contribution of orbital errors to the InSAR uncertainty. We e...
متن کاملOrbital Perturbation Effect on LEO Satellite Trajectory
A satellite, in its orbit, is affected by perturbing forces, such as atmospheric drag, solar radiation pressure, Earth oblateness, and gravity of the celestial masses (other than the Earth). In this paper, the effects of these forces on the trajectories of different types of LEO satellites and a sample satellite (Z-SAT) are discussed. A few analyses are done on these orbits and the relevant res...
