چکیده
In the last few decades, there has been a dramatic increase in industrial and urban activities, culminating in the need for people to adopt improved living conditions. This has led to an increase in the use of packaging materials, mainly in the form of plastic. Plastics have become an indispensable part of today’s world. Due to their lightweight, durability, energy efficiency, coupled with ease of production and design flexibility. These polymers are employed in entire gamut of industrial and domestic areas. Plastics are produced from petroleum derivatives and are composed primarily of hydrocarbons, but also contain additives such as antioxidants, colorants and other stabilizers [1]. Today about 129 million tons of plastics are produced annually all over the world, out of which 77 million tons produced from petroleum [1]. Plastics are nonbiodegradable polymers, mostly containing carbon, hydrogen, and a few other elements like nitrogen, chlorine. However, some plastics can also be made from renewable materials such as polylactic acid, obtainable from cellulosic materials. Plastic products are ubiquitous in modern society because they represent a convenient means to transport purchased goods from the markets, factories, supermarket to the home. Plastic products are plentiful, inexpensive to produce, sturdy yet low weight, and easy to store and transport [2]. Due to its less-biodegradable nature, plastic wastes contribute significantly to the problem of waste management. Disposal of plastic wastes pose a great hazard to the environment and effective method has not been implemented [3].

Waste plastics are harmful, toxic, and non-biodegradable. Environmental impacts of waste plastics are raised concern about all over the world for safe and friendly environment. Due to dense population and environmental effects of the major city in the world dumping, incineration and land filling are faced difficulties and challenges. At this circumstances vast of waste plastics are remained vul...
متن کاملEnvironmentally Harmful Low Density Waste Plastic Conversion into Kerosene Grade Fuel
Plastics wastes from a municipal solid waste (MSW) plant have a high-energy content and are suitable for fuel generation. Thermal cracking is one of the possible ways to obtain petrochemical feedstock from polymer wastes. Municipal waste plastic of LDPE conversion to kerosene grade fuel experiments were carried out under atmospheric conditions at temperatures between 150 ̊C and 420 ̊C. Low densit...
متن کاملWaste oils as alternative fuel for diesel engine: A review
Increase in energy demand, stringent emission norms and depletion of oil resources have led the researchers to find alternative fuels for internal combustion engines. On the other hand, waste oils pose a very serious environment challenge because of their disposal problems all over the world. In this context, waste oils are currently receiving renewed interest. The properties of the oil derived...
متن کاملRecovery of Hydrocarbon Liquid from Waste High Density Polyethylene by Thermal Pyrolysis
Thermal degradation of waste plastics in an inert atmosphere has been regarded as a productive method, because this process can convert waste plastics into hydrocarbons that can be used either as fuels or as a source of chemicals. In this work, waste high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic was chosen as the material for pyrolysis. A simple pyrolysis reactor system has been used to pyrolyse was...
