چکیده

The IEICE (Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers) Transactions on Electronics announces a forthcoming special section on "Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Technology" to be published in October 2016. With the recent and rapid growth of wireless applications (5G, WLAN, WPT system, millimeter-wave radar, sensor), there are increasing demands of high performance/small size/low cost microwave/millimeter-wave/sub-millimeter-wave (THz band) devices/circuits/components/sub-systems and their integration technologies for advanced wireless systems. The purpose of this Special Section is to publish and stimulate the latest researches and developments in this technical field. The special section solicits paper submission not only from people who will present their papers in the 2015 IEEE International Symposium on Radio-Frequency Integration Technology (RFIT2015) held in Sendai, Japan, in August 2015, but also from all people engaging in the microwave/millimeter-wave technical field.

Millimeter-Wave Radar Technology for Automotive Application

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation has developed a millimeter-wave radar for automotive application. Monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICs), developed specifically for this application by Mitsubishi Electric, are used for the radio-frequency (RF) module to obtain outstanding radar performance. This millimeter-wave radar incorporates a signal-processing unit in the radar head, resulting i...

Superconducting Microstrip-Fed Antenna Coupled to a Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector

A proper antenna to couple to a microstrip Microwave Kinetic Inductance Detector (MKID) is designed and simulated. A twin-slot microstrip-fed inline antenna is designed for frequency band of 600-720~GHz integrated with an elliptical lens and coupled to the MKID. A systematic design procedure for design of such antenna with microstrip inline feeding is presented. Whole structure of lens and twin...

Development of Ultrasonic Flip Chip Bonding Technology

Millimeter wave radars have been developed and marketed for the purpose of reduction in deaths in traffic accidents and traffic congestion. However, the millimeter wave radars need to be cheaper to be used more widely. In order to make the radars cheaper, we developed a new MMIC (Monolithic Microwave IC) structure and bonding technology, focusing on reducing costs of RF-modules. This article de...
