A recent study suggests that exposure to aircraft noise during the day has a greater impact on cognitive ability in children than sleep-disruption caused by exposure to aircraft noise

چکیده
The study brought together evidence on the relationship between environmental noise and health effects and provided estimates of the health impacts based on existing knowledge of the relationships between exposure and health. This was achieved using DALYs (disability-adjusted life years), which combine potential years lost from premature death with healthy years lost through disease and illness. It focussed on the impacts of cardiovascular disease, cognitive impairment, sleep disturbance, tinnitus and annoyance. Annoyance was included because the WHO defines health as being a ‘state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing’. For some impacts, estimates could only be provided for certain parts of Europe and/or age groups owing to available data.

Now aircraft that spill in Yazd airport and take-off of aircraft is of jet engines or so-turbofan mean that the resulting sound will be very high. Methods: In this descriptive, cross-sectional me...
متن کاملNon-auditory Effects Caused by Environmental Noise Pollution
Noise pollution is one of the prominent environmental problems affecting human health especially in developing countries. The impacts of noise on health should not be underestimated. Exposure to acoustical stimuli impairs not only the function of auditory system but also that of many other systems of human body. Previous investigations revealed that noise exposure could result in sleep disturba...

متن کاملPerceptions of Aircraft Noise Exposure, Noise Sensitivity? Sleep Disturbance and Health: Results from the Bristol Noise, Sleep and Health Study
The aim of the present research was to examine associations between perceptions of noise exposure, noise sensitivity, sleep disturbance and health in an area where aircraft noise is not particularly prevalent (Bristol, UK). A questionnaire was mailed to a random community sample and 543 responses were received. This sample was found to be a representative sample of the general population. Preli...
متن کاملRole of handedness in the Effects of Low Frequency Noise on cognitive performance of Students of Hamedan University of Medical Sciences.
Background and Aim: Noise is one of the most effective exogenous factors affecting the processing mechanisms of the human brain, which has a major role in the occurrence of human error and occupational accidents. Low frequency noise is usually produced by sources such as ventilation systems, pumps, compressors, diesel engines and gas turbines, and so on. For this reason, the sound is in additio...
