Retaining Hyperlinks in Printed Hypermedia Document
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we describe a method that allows a hypermedia document to retain its hyperlinks in the printed copy. The method associates the hyperlinks with cut-out tabs on the edges of the printed pages. A method for modelling the cut-out tabs and optimizing their assignment to the hyperlinks is discussed. We also describe a prototype authoring system that implements the method. 1999 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.

متن کاملIntegrating hypermedia design concepts with a systems analysis and design methodology to develop manufacturing web applications
Many recognize the World Wide Web’s capability to provide a global network and platform for application support of engineering activities. Most manufacturing applications on the web were initially designed for other platforms and ported to the web to take advantage of universal access. Another opportunity provided by the web is for exploratory access to information through the hyperlinks. Howev...
متن کاملThree Issues in the Use of Versioned Hypermedia for Software Development Systems
The Software Concordance project is extending the concept of literate programming with research on how modern document and hypermedia services can improve software development environments. The Software Concordance editor is both a syntax-recognizing Java program editor and an XML document editor. It has a uniform document model, based on XML, that lets Java source code documents include both h...
متن کاملInteractive Paper as a Reading Medium in Digital Libraries
In digital libraries, much of the reading activity is still done on printed copies of documents. We show how digital pen and paper technologies can be used to support readers by automatically creating interactive paper versions of digital documents during the printing process that enable users to activate embedded hyperlinks to other documents and services from printed versions. The approach us...
