Biatrial cardiac myxoma.

چکیده
A routine abdominal sonography study detected a round mass in the right atrium of a 66-year-old man, who was then transferred to our hospital for further evaluation. On physical examination, the patient appeared healthy, with no signs of discomfort or heart failure. Cardiac auscultation revealed normal heart sounds with a mild respiratory-dependant systolic murmur at the apex. Laboratory studies did not detect any significant abnormalities. Electrocardiogram (ECG) showed sinus tachycardia of 100 bpm and an incomplete right bundle branch block with a QRS duration of 0.10 sec. Transthoracic echocardiography showed a round homogeneously echogenic mass of 30 X 20 mm in the right atrium, which was adjacent to the interatrial septum. Left ventricular diameters and function were normal. No diastolic prolapse of the mass into the right ventricle was detected. The left atrium was not entirely visible, and further studies were suggested to exclude tumor in the left atrium. We performed an ECG-triggered cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examination on a standard Siemens Expert Magnetom 1.0-T scanner with gradient-

Biatrial Recurrence of Two Independently Growing Cardiac Myxoma in a Patient with Multiple Tumor Disease
We report the case of a 56-year-old female patient with biatrial recurrence of cardiac myxoma and extensive comorbidities. In the literature, only few cases of biatrial myxoma can be found and they generally describe a single tumor reaching both atria. We found two independently growing cardiac myxomas of both atria.
متن کاملA Biatrial Myxoma with Triple Ripples
Cardiac myxoma is a benign tumor, but it is known for its space-occupying effect at the site of origin and frequent systemic embolization. This case report highlights a biatrial myxoma of interatrial septum who presented with significant tricuspid valve regurgitation, atrial fibrillation, and cardioembolic stroke of the left parietal lobe, i.e., a biatrial myxoma with triple ripples.
متن کاملAn Unusual Biatrial Cardiac Myxoma in a Young Patient
This is a report of a biatrial cardiac myxoma in a young man with a 10-month history of exertional dyspnea and palpitation. The echocardiogram revealed biatrial myxoma prolapsing through the mitral and tricuspid valves during diastole. All cardiac chambers were enlarged and dysfunctional. The electrocardiogram revealed a rapid ventricular response with atrial flutter rhythm. The masses were res...
متن کاملBiatrial myxoma and atrial septal defect.
Myxomas are rarely associated with congenital cardiac anomalies. We report a case of a young female presenting with symptoms of atrial myxoma but having co-existing ASD visualized on 64 slice multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) prior to cardiac surgery. Patient had a successful resection of biatrial myxoma and ASD repair. This case is unique as the myxoma originated from the inferior margi...
متن کاملAuthor's response to reviews Title: Giant biatrial myxoma nearly obstructing the orifice of the inferior vena cava Authors:
Cardiac myxomas are the most common type of benign cardiac tumors and most of them occur in the left atrium but the biatrial myxoma is uncommon. We present a rare case of giant biatrial myxoma nearly obstructing the orifice of the inferior vena cava. A 58-year old woman presented with exertional dyspnea and intermittent chest discomfort. The nonpedunculated tumor involved most of the interatria...
متن کاملBiatrial myxoma floating like a butterfly
Rationale:Myxoma is the most common type of primary benign cardiac tumor in adults. The left atrium is the most frequent site of origin followed by the right atrium. Biatrial myxoma is extremely rare. Patient concerns: We present a case of a 60-year-old woman with biatrial myxoma, who presented with palpitations for one month. Diagnoses: Echocardiography revealed an irregular homogeneous mass i...
