Alkaline degradation of inulin and its structural implications.

چکیده
Alkaline degradation of inulin under controlled conditions shows that not all molecules in an inulin preparation are nonreducing and, thus, alkali-stable and suitable for clinical measurements. Reducing “inulin” molecules are degraded by the normal betaalkoxy carbonyl mechanism, and the main product of degradation in calcium hydroxide solution is “c ”-D-glucosaccharinic acid. An inulin preparation can be made alkalistable by sodium borohydride reduction. There appears to be a difference in the alkali lability of inulin and other fructan preparations obtained from different sources.

متن کاملDigestive alkaline proteases from the Tunisian barbell (Barbus callensis): Characterization and application as a detergent additive, in chicken feather-degradation and as a dehairing agent
Alkaline crude enzymes from the viscera of the Tunisian barbel (Barbus callensis) were extracted and characterized. Proteolytic crude extract from barbel viscera was active and stable in alkaline solution. The optimum pH and temperature were 11.0 and 55 °C, respectively, using casein as a substrate. The crude alkaline protease was extremely stable in the pH range of 5.0-12.0. Zymography activit...

متن کاملPotential of capillary electrophoresis for the monitoring of the stability of placental alkaline phosphatase.
Alkaline phosphatase (AP) is a potential therapeutic agent in the treatment of sepsis. In this paper the potential of capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) for the monitoring of the degradation of placental alkaline phosphatase (PLAP) was investigated. To induce degradation PLAP samples were exposed to high temperatures, low and high pH and freeze-drying. The samples were then analyzed by CZE an...
متن کاملSynthesis and Structural Characterization of Bi2O3 Loaded on the MCM-41 and Study of Its Photocatalytic Performance in Degradation of Methylene Blue
In this work, we report synthesis and characterization of Bi2O3 nanoparticles loaded on mesoporous MCM-41 nanoparticles by a simple solid-state dispersion (SSD) method. Monoclinic bismuth oxide nanoparticles were prepared by polyacrylamide gel method and used as loading materials on the prepared mesoporous MCM-41 as a supporting material. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray p...
