Towards an Individualized Delineation of Functional Neuroanatomy
نویسندگان
چکیده
The functional neuroanatomy of the human brain is known to vary between individuals, yet current descriptions are based on group-averaged data. Laumann et al. (2015) present data from one highly sampled individual and show unique fine-grained differences representing subject-specific functional architecture.

Individualized localization and cortical surface-based registration of intracranial electrodes
In addition to its widespread clinical use, the intracranial electroencephalogram (iEEG) is increasingly being employed as a tool to map the neural correlates of normal cognitive function as well as for developing neuroprosthetics. Despite recent advances, and unlike other established brain-mapping modalities (e.g. functional MRI, magneto- and electroencephalography), registering the iEEG with ...
متن کاملDelineation of the Functional Neuroanatomy of Induced Anxiety: A fMRI Study Using the Intravenous Caffeine Model
INTRODUCTION Common anxiety disorders include panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and social phobias. The brain circuitry associated with anxiety remains to be fully elucidated. Investigators have used a number of imaging modalities including positron emission tomography for imaging the brain during induced anxiety states. We report here the first fMR1...
متن کاملAn exemplar-based approach to individualized parcellation reveals the need for sex specific functional networks
Recent work with functional connectivity data has led to significant progress in understanding the functional organization of the brain. While the majority of the literature has focused on group-level parcellation approaches, there is ample evidence that the brain varies in both structure and function across individuals. In this work, we introduce a parcellation technique that incorporates deli...
متن کاملTowards comparative theoretical neuroanatomy of the cerebral cortex
Despite differences in brain sizes and cognitive niches among mammals, their cerebral cortices posses many common features and regularities. These regularities have been a subject of experimental investigation in neuroanatomy for the last 100 years. It is believed that such studies may provide clues about cortical design principles and perhaps function. However, on a theoretical side there has ...
