چکیده

Experts theorized that a Brushless Wound-rotor [Synchronous] Doubly-fed Electric Machine System (BWRSDF), which can symmetrically motor or generate with variable speed, provides higher efficiency, higher power density, higher torque density, and lower cost than any other electric machine system, including the permanent magnet electric machine system, but only with the discovery of a practical brushless real time control solution for its known issues of instability and the multiphase slip-ring assembly that continually eludes state-of-art control methods, such as Field Oriented Control (FOC). Comprising a dual-ported transformer circuit topology with the attractive characteristics common to the advanced induction electric machine system, such as versatility, robustness, field weakening, practically unconstrained torque and power rating, simplicity, and low cost, etc., but with higher efficiency and torque than the permanent magnet electric machine system, the fully electromagnetic core of the BWRSDF uses readily available technology and materials without the market volatility, safety and reliability issues of rare-earth permanent magnets.

Real-time Rotor Bar Current Measurements Using Bluetooth Technology for a Brushless Doubly-fed Machine (bdfm)

The Brushless Doubly Fed Machine (BDFM) shows economic promise as a variable speed drive or generator. The optimization of the machine and model-based control strategies both rely on machine models, and the experimental verification of these models. To date, dynamic measurements of rotor quantities have not been possible. The authors present a system of measuring rotor bar currents in real time...

Torque and Reactive Power Control of a Doubly-Fed Induction Machine by Position Sensorless Scheme

Doubly fed wound rotor induction machine with vector control is very attractive to the high performance, variable speed drive and generating applications[ 1-31. In variable speed drive application, the so-called slip power recovering scheme is a common practice where the power due to the rotor slip belowlabove synchronous speed is recovered to/supplied from the power source, resulting a high ef...

Parameter and Performance Comparison of Doubly Fed Brushless Machine With Cage and Reluctance Rotors

The cage and reluctance rotors are two major types of rotor structures used in the doubly fed brushless machine (DFBM). In order to study comparatively the effects of different rotor structure on the DFBM, a prototype machine has been specially designed and built. The experimental parameter and performance comparisons between the axially laminated anisotropic (ALA) and cage-rotor machines are p...

Equivalent circuit for the brushless doubly fed machine (BDFM) including parameter estimation and experimental verification

Experimental results from a frame size 180 brushless doubly fed (induction) machine (BDFM) fitted with four rotor designs are presented. The machine is intended for use as a variable speed generator, or drive. A per phase equivalent circuit for the machine has been developed and a method of obtaining parameters for the circuit is described. Expressions for the torque as a function of speed have...

A Novel Wind-Power Generating System Using Field Orientation Controlled Doubly-Excited Brushless Reluctance Machine

Variable speed operation of a wind turbine generator improves its energy capturing capability. Up to the present, the machines employed have been induction machines, conventional synchronous machines or DC machines. The major drawback of these machines is that a complicated arrangement of slip rings or commutators with brushes, and a full-rating power converter are required. Reliability and cos...
